Berlin, Maryland what a nice picturesque town. After spending a few hours antiqueing the smell of fresh food was in the air. Right across the street is the historic 1895 Hotel Atlantic. White linen tablecloths, that's a change. Beautiful interior a sign reads take a table anywhere. So for lunch on a nice November afternoon we choose the indoor patio. Since that room was empty I motioned to the server, room open, she said be our guest. The very attentive Luann told us the specials. We had an open faced Turkey sandwich and Fish Tacos. Service was fast, we both enjoyed the flavors and quality. Would go back. A nice plus, they are open for Thanksgiving and were told 75 bookings of 320 people. Enjoy your experience. We are alone in that room until we were ready to leave, Luann never forgot about us. Class act all the way around.

At the beach with friends and looking for the best source of coffee and a bite to eat. We took time to travel to Berlin to visit this coffee house. It was well worth the trip. We tried the Cappuccino, Cold Brew, and Coffee Mocha Coconut Smoothie. All were excellent, with rich flavor and well prepared. We also opted for egg wraps and bagels which were fresh, delicious and hit the spot. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxing and locals are approachable and helpful. You will not regret your trip to this coffee house. The cappuccino was so good, I grabbed a second one for the road!

We had the regular high tea for 4 people. The sandwiches, sweets and teas were excellent.
You are not going to walk away stuffed to the point of discomfort. That is not the point of high tea. It is supposed to be a genteel gathering for the ladies . So grab some clothing that makes you look like a flapper or a lady of the Elizabethan era - they will supply you with a hat to go with your outfit (how fun is that?!?).
A lot of work goes into creating those tiny sandwiches and bite sized desserts (yes, you should try it at home to get an appreciation). Admire them. They are literally works of food art. Then eat them daintily as you enjoy one of the excellent tea offerings.
Your kids and strollers?? Maybe you should leave them at home and remember the enjoyment of a 'girls day out'. I didn't get the sense they loved your wee ones nearly as much as you do.
The owner?? Quirky, talkative and, at times brusk. But in my mind, she works her socks off to bring you this wonderful high tea experience. Enjoy her quirkiness and show your appreciation by supporting this excellent woman owned business.
Oh, in case you are wondering. I have only been here one time (I hope to correct this soon!) and I don't know anyone associated with the business. Had to put that in there as I know this is a bit of a weird review..

I frequently drive up and down Delmarva on Route 113 as part of my 13-14 hour drive from NC to NH - and make a point to stop at Blacksmith for a meal break whenever I can. I highly recommend it for travelers looking for a lunch or dinner place with great food and beverage options, excellent cooking, timely service, welcoming staff and comfy atmosphere.

Stopped after lunch and ordered a small ice cream in a cup - it was huge! The staff was great, they let me try flavors before choosing. There were so many flavors to choose from, hard decision. I chose Pineapple Upside Down Cake, it was delicious! There were a few large chunks of frozen pineapple that I had to let thaw before I could eat them but it was worth the wait.

This is a great restaurant with a lot of character. Loved the decor and layout. The food was served at the right temperature and in a reasonable amount of time. You can't beat the prices as well. Peggy and Jason do a good job at keeping both locals and tourists happy with their in house ground coffee, teas, ice creams, sandwiches and more. There are comfortable sitting places plus books, gifts and souvenirs to buy. Bigger and more comfortable than On Common Grounds which is located on Main Street this locals favorite, Berlin Coffee House has its own atmosphere and on Second Friday Art Strolls stay open later and offers entertainment.

This is superior ice cream, and it rivals the best I've ever had. Anywhere. The selection is not overwhelmingly large, but it is wide enough to suit almost any taste. They carry a nice selection of other dairy products, some meat selections (such as bacon), and -- surprisingly -- fresh seafood. Prices are not low, but the quality is first-rate. There are picnic benches outside to use when the weather's nice. Hours are seasonal.

In the heart of Berlin among larger restaurants with very good food ,there lies a real "Diamond in the Rough:" The Reef. This is a throwback to when you could get a real milkshake made from hand-dipped ice cream...and thick! Add to that hamburgers, etc., that taste like real food, and you are in downtown Berlin, Maryland. We take our grandchildren there every chance we get...................And the atmosphere is "just like it used to be."
Yes your are a stones throw from Ocean City, MD.and RT#50, but swing-into downtown Berlin for a great experience....You will not be disappointed.
