This Hilton Garden wasn’t a pleasant experience

I’m being generous with a 3 out of 5. We stayed 2 nights. Our 1st (May 22) was our arrival before flying out to Phoenix. The check in process was ok, the desk attendant was very nice and prompt to help us get things taken care of. The bed are average, with the pillows being absolutely horrible. The cleanliness was great. The lady working the food area was sweet, kind and helpful. The food was yummy and quick. We had to fly out early so the shuttle was prompt and moved at a quick pace. The driver did help but the shuttle was full of people flying out. He was not very friendly at all. I will also say it could use a little maintenance. It sounds as if it is literally going to fall down around you. Our return stay- (May 27) is a completely different story. We had a late arrival. It was after 1 a.m.. I call for the shuttle and I am told it is on its way. We waited longer than anyone else, and some had came and went twice before we were even picked up. When the shuttle arrived (we have a party of 4) We were not greeted, we were not helped with our bags, (thankful we were traveling with people who could help the ladies with their heavy bags) the driver acted completely put out over the entire situation. When we arrived at the hotel the driver opened the doors, got out of the driver side and walked off. Again absolutely no help with unloading and bags, or any words at all for that matter. We get in and we are greeted by a gentleman seated at the front desk, he never stood, couldn’t find our information, when I gave him all I had he finally found it and gave us a key. We went to the little store, the self check out is aggravating. It doesn’t scan well and no help is offered if things are going badly. At 1 in the morning some kindness would have went a long way. We were tired and hungry. We got to the room and the pillows were just as cheep and awful as before so I requested 2 more. Only to be told it was a full house and he was sincerely sorry there weren’t any extras. Now I do not know if the hotel was full, but an investment in some new pillows wouldn’t hurt. When I think of Hilton, I think of above par, they are held higher than the rest. In my opinion this place does NOT live up to that standard. If we fly again we will be looking for another place with a 24 hour shuttle, bc that is what brought us the this place. I do want to end by saying the May 22 hotel crew were fabulous and helpful. I hate the our return night was so utterly disappointing.

So impressed!

My husband and I stayed here recently. I had just arrived late in the evening after 20+ hours of travel from London. Everything about the room was excellent in all respects (bed, cleanliness, etc) with the exception of the bathtub. The bath plug was non-functional. As I had specifically requested a bath, this was a disappointment. We contacted reception and borrowed pliers to try to remedy the problem as it was too ,ate for maintenance workers. Breakfast was good as ever. The Drury always excell other hotels of this level. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Best of all, upon checkout, we were compensated for the cost of the room due to the problem with the bathtub. As we had not complained or requested this, I was delighted and most impressed by this kind and generous offer. What a super company!

Customer service experience that failed on every level

Reviewed By Wowjustwow

On 4/27, I contacted the property to inquire if they had suites as they never appear on the site when booking reservations. I spoke to a young lady at the desk who informed me they did. I asked if I could please be booked into one and to tell me the price difference as I needed a little more space on this trip. I had My service animal and the dog's handler with me. The young lady said don't worry about the rate they would just block me there at no charge. We drove from Newport Beach to the property and arrived on the evening of the 29th. At check-in the young lady said you don't have a reservation for today you have one for tomorrow. I said no one sec let me get my phone as I am certain it's for today. I got my phone and confirmed my reservation was for the 29th not the next day. She then looked and said oh We will have to move you tomorrow if that's ok as the room we had you in is occupied. I said ok not quite understanding it would be smaller. Once I got to the room and saw it was small I called down. I got the MOD on the phone. I asked trying to clarify what the plan was and apparently she did not like me asking as she hung up the phone on me. Now I see the hotel is probable close to full by the traffic but if you cant handle the pressure you shouldn't have the position. Also, I as the customer won't be your punching bag. I went to the lobby and when I got to where the bar enters the lobby area I pointed at the lady at the desk and I said. "You hung up the phone on me. Now the distance is probably something like 35 feet at the least. I approached the desk, and she said yes, "I hung up on you. I didn't like your tone" Now, I'm not sure when the employee in hospitality became the decision-maker when the customer is spending the dollar, but apparently that's what happens at Marriot hotels now. I said, "I will be calling corporate," She said "go ahead, no one will do anything, and you have 30 minutes to get out of my hotel." I went upstairs and started getting my things back on the cart. Security knocks on the door. I open it and tell her we are packing to get out of your building. She then said, "She was coming up for our protection." She then asked what happened because, as she said, "You were in a really good mood when you came in." Which was true I was. We then get on elevator come to the lobby which is complete and when we get off the elevator, the MOD is standing there with a smile with Three police officers. Turns out she called the police and reported that I got in her face and pointed my finger. Which is Slanderous. Im walking to get the car and the what I thought was pregnant MOD and the police were standing on the drive not realizing two people were with me the policeman is telling her she should cal and get me barred from all marriotts I pull up to get luggage and they are all out front with the guests of course looking I suggested she have better energy for the baby she was carrying she laughed and said she wasn't pregnant and I sai well if I were you I wouldn't find that funny One of my witnesses asked her to rerun the tape because as they said he wouldn't do that. She said she didn't have to rerun the tape reason being that didnt happen. But it's 2022 And as a Black man having an employee of a hotel where I have given the company 600 plus nights to date makes a false statement like that. I could have been killed in this climate on a complete LIE. Yes I'm furious! I emailed Marriott new CEO who I may add is not near as personable as Arne Sorenson the former CEO RIP was he then referred to Multicultural affairs Cara Anderson contacted me and seemed concerned and assured me something would be done and someone would contact me. i did receive a call from vicki kroll the GM of the property which is owned by Schulte Hospitality group out of Kentucky. She called me at 5pm on the Monday following the event. That in itself certainly told me her direction on the situation as it clearly wasn't important to her company or her. I have reached to to care several times since the initial contact with nothing back. I did call Vicki today. =her response was she wasn't there and she has to go with the word of her employee and that they did do training. My response was I need to speak with someone at schulte. Vicki said they don't take or make calls they prefer the hotel deal with it. I called their office in Kentucky where there is a voicemail only. Clearly the GM didnt bother to look at the footage and whatever her employee says or does is ok. I did put in a request to Marriott I also left a message at schulte and on vicki krolls vmail to save that footage and I will have an attorney contact them to also make that request. Marriott has no control over these hotels because this would have never happened under previous leadership. Its time to start looking at other chains. I refuse to spend money where the employee can treat me anyway they want with no reprecussions and put my life at risk with slander. I have held this review for almost a month trying to get resolution but after speaking with vicky who wasn't there and must go with whatever her employee says although footage is different I can continue to put my life at risk because staying is obviously doing that for black males if that's how you are doing it these days. i called Marriott corp today and was explaining the situation and christone there got an attitude and went on a rant about what she didnt do to me. I explained to her this had not a thing to do with her and I never said such she then said well she perceived that. THATS THE WHOLE ISSUE THE EMPLOYEE IS THERE TO DO A JOB THIS COULD HAVE ALL BEEN AVOIDED AT THE END OF THE DAY IF THE MOD HAD NEVER HUNG UPTHE PHONE BECAUSE SHE DIDNT LIKE MY TONE ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NO PROFANITY YELLING OR PERSONAL INSULTS. AS AN EMPLOYEE YOU DONT QUALIFY TO DICTATE TO THE CUSTOMER ANYTHING OTHER THAN RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR BUT WHEN YOU HANG UP THE PHONE YOU ARE THE DISRESPECTFUL ONE AND THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THAT! PS I ALSO EMAILED THE CEO OF SCHULTE WHO NEVER RESPONDED DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY WHERE ITS NOT APPRECITED AND SCUTE OWNED PROPERTIES FIT THAT CATEGORY

I stayed here after coming from St. Charles after finishing the KATY trail. I wanted a hotel close to a Metrolink station and this was only an 8 min bike ride from the Airport terminal 2 station. Rate was reasonable, and there was a complementary breakfast. I was able to keep my bicycle in my room, and access from the front door was easy, without any steps.

The carpet was also old and dirty. I slept in my cloths. Do not stay here. Avoid this place! This is the opposite of quality and I challenge the ceo to stay one night.
