Large group with reservations, table was waiting for us and service was prompt and courteous. Great view of river. All you can eat fantail shrimp that evening. I had prime rib. Both were delicious. Nice salad bar. I'd go back again.

While camping in nearby Bellevue State Park, we were talking to the DNR Officer and he recommended trying Grandpa's Parlor for Ice Cream.
After leaving Grandpa's, his recommendation was spot on. Although there isn't much selection (about 6-8) flavors, they do offer a VERY generous single scoop at a low price. A few tables inside and a small bench right outside, with more picnic like tables around the corner.

Only the best fried chicken I've ever had, the mashed potatoes were pretty great too. My daughter and I ordered the same meal and she was just as impressed as I was. My husband got pulled pork and loved it. We were sat in the back room by ourselves which was nice. The mill is beautiful on the inside. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Would love to go back if we are ever in Iowa again.

Five in our family went for breakfast. We were traveling and stopped based on the reviews. We did not think the food lived up to the reviews. Every thing was acceptable but not great. The restaurant did get crowded but we didn't figure there was much competition in town. One waitress works the whole restaurant and two young ladies cook. One example- one bacon request was for limp bacon and one was for extra crispy. The bacon on both plates was the same-average. The pancakes were plate-sized. But average. The eggs were average. The cinnamon roll was good. I asked for butter and was served what they use - margarine. Cream for coffee is in little containers that can sit out all the time without refrigeration. Like I said - average.

Great fried shrimp; good size and very tasty. The service was good and prices reasonable. The menu has quite a variety to chose from.

Unmatched Old World decor, a diverse wine cellar, and premier personal service are all complemented by our chef"s creative cuisine. Enjoy dining in one of our cozy booths or elegant tables with breathtaking views overlooking the Mississippi River.
We were downtown at Jamie's wine bar and she mentioned this is where we should eat. We were thinking we would just walk downtown for supper, but thought what the heck and decided to make a rez and drive to dinner. We were greeted by...MoreDear Dennis, thank you for sharing your Goldmoor experience, comments like yours reinforce our believes and passion and we are delighted that you came to visit. The view of the river is the selling point. The meals are average and tonight our service was average to below average.
Sat outside and wiped our own table off. Slow to get drinks and tableware. Never offered water or checked on our meal after it was served.y ribs were fall off the bone as described. Cooked in a oven with no smoke taste. Average. Olive burger had few olives on it.

I find this Subway to have the most choices for sandwich toppings than any other Subway I have been to. Outdoor deck has seating that looks over the lock and Dam on the Mississippi River. Always clean.

This is a family-owned multi-business--restaurant, florist, gifts. The owners are gracious and very friendly, with lots of information about local sites and events. The food, all home-cooked, is from a limited daily menu, but all is tasty and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Eating here is like eating at a friend's house, a friend who is a very good cook!

on the banks of the Mississipps river
Have family in Bellevue, so when in town we like to dine at Offshore, generally several times a year. Yes, mostly on a weekend, in Summer and they have always been very busy when we are there. That is not an excuse and staff should be aware and adequate when they know they will be slammed on a Saturday night.
We almost always order a dinner, steak, salmon each time. The steak was good, however the salmon was killed to death and then some. Next time we went, told them to cook the Salmon slightly under cooked and it was about right. Service on the nights we have went (Saturday) is slow, over an hour for the dinner to be served.
Atmosphere is great! Lots of people, activity, music, and amazing views of the Mississippi River.
Will continue to frequent Offshore, but will make sure to speak up and let them know how we like our food prepared, afterall we are the paying guests.
