According to famed diver Jacques Cousteau, the Great Blue Hole of Belize is one of the most spectacular dive sites on earth. The crystal-clear sapphire waters are home to colorful tropical fish and several species of reef sharks – ideal for brave divers who love to get up close and personal with sea life. On dry ground, diverse rainforests, mangrove swamps, and Mayan ruins are perfect for exploration. The beaches of Belize are sunny and tranquil spots for a day of relaxation.

My 15 year old daughter and I spent 4 nights here. The room was comfortable, with very good A/C, comfortable beds and clean, spacious bathroom. We ate several meals here, although we'd intended to do more in-town restaurant exploring than we did, because the hotel restaurant was so convenient and delicious. the pool was beautiful and felt great after tours in the heat and humidity. The Green Iguana Project was also worth a visit. The employees were all very courteous and helpful. We booked several excursions through the hotel and although they were slightly more expensive than I could have gotten elsewhere, the tours and guides were exceptional! We especially enjoyed Cruz and Jason - so thorough, knowledgeable, and personable. I could tell I was getting a better experience than other tours around us. I would stay here again and book with Cruz and Jason, for sure.

We just had a lovely stay at the Las Terrazas resort. Great location, just far enough out of the busy city but close enough to get there if you wanted to. The staff, Anna, Albert, Steven, Iroy, Jahphet Graciella and all of the staff were terrific! I never felt rushed, pressured or anything. Just cared for and enjoyed. What a vacation!

My family and I stayed here for three nights and had a great time. Just as a heads up, tis lodge is a out 25-30 min from Belmopan. It is a bit secluded and doesn't have other restaurants or stores around. There were two downfalls. 1) The bugs. We were warned and prepared for the bugs, but they are seriously everywhere. We stayed in the River House and somehow bugs managed to get into the house, bathrooms and a few snuck into bed. There is really nothing to be done about the bugs because we were in the rain forest. No stars were taken off because of our visitors. 2) The menu at the restaurant was limited. Each meal had around four to five options, but nothing sounded amazing. Many people have said this restaurant is the best in Belize, but we would disagree. The food was ok. The prices were RIDICULOUS. Here are the positive things about Sleeping Giant: 1) the customer service is amazing. We stayed at the sister resort in Hopkins (Jaguar Reef) and Sleeping Giant has got the customer service down pat. They help with luggage, give you a tour of the grounds and your room. Anything we needed, which wasn't much because most things had already been thought of, they made it happen. Every detail was covered. Umbrellas near the front door, towels at the pool, they called us by name and remembered things about us. 2) the grounds are amazing. I don't know how they do it, but the grounds crew works tirelessly to keep things trimmed and picked up and growing. My kids especially appreciated the ducks, ducklings, bunnies, chickens and turtles. 3) the excursions were great. We did St. Herman's cave and horseback riding. David, our driver answered all of our questions on the way to Herman's Cave. He explained how the day would go and gave tips on what to bring. When we arrived at the cave, we got our equipment from a different company who took us to the cave. After the cave trip, David had water and dry towels waiting for us. We them headed to the Blue Hole, which was really cool. Sharman is the new cowboy for horseback riding. He was very patient with our first time rider who freaked out. She was ready to go on another ride when we were done. The ride is through their orange orchard, into the jungle with a pit stop at the river and then back to the resort. After staying at Jaguar Reef, we realized how great Sleeping Giant was. I would stay there again.

Ramon's Village Resort is the premiere beach resort in San Pedro, Belize featuring authentic Palm Thatched Cabanas, fabulous beach, lagoon style pool, Ramon's Village Divers scuba diving center, Pineapples Restaurant, Tropic Al's and the Tiki Turtle Trading Company.
We just returned from a 6 night stay at Ramons. The property is lush with beautiful tropical vegetation and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff works around the clock to rake and haul away the sargassum so the beach is enjoyable. We saw so many other resorts with huge amounts of sargassum piled up on the beach but none at Ramons. The restaurant, Pineapples, is wonderful and we had many breakfasts, lunches, and dinners there. My daughter got her open water PADI certification at the on-site dive center (with Rolando, who is awesome). The crew and our excursions were a highlight...be sure to find Joshua (the manatee whisperer- haha) and Pete for your snorkeling adventures. They are both so knowledgeable about ocean life and made us feel well cared for...they were such fun! The hotel staff is there to take care of your every need, they are organized, responsive and do everything with a smile. Highly recommend Ramons!

Our Eco-Lodge is located in the Scenic Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. We offer earthy yet stylish thatch roofed cabanas with excellent views of our waterfalls or Mountain Range, amazingly comfortable beds, Frette and Matouk linens and towels and bathrooms with hand painted Mexican tiles. Among our amenities are our natural fresh water pools, waterfalls, authentic Belizean cuisine, nature trails, day tours to the many Maya archaeological sites and adventure trips.
This place is stunningly beautiful! Love the easy access to the waterfall and love the attention to detail by the staff. I’ve travelled to many places and loved them but the Gaia staff truly gives you the care and attention. When we first arrived to Belize airport, we were met by Darrel and he is so knowledgeable in all things Belize, Gaia, and the culture. While the drive to Gaia was a little long, we stopped at a local convenience store where he introduced to us, plantain chips with ketchup. That was an interesting combo but surprisingly good. To mention the roads to Gaia, all were paved except for maybe the last 10 minutes. During COVID, I believe the roads were paved and so there are no pot holes and crazy gravel other than the last few minutes of the drive. Once we arrived to Gaia, we were met by Kobi and we complimentary fruit juice mixed with rum (super yummy!). Normally, when met by staff at other hotels, you’re rushed to check in and get to your room. At Gaia, we were given time to eat lunch and see the overlook of the Five Sisters waterfall before checking in. Once we were checked in, we were led to our rooms and the landscape is well kept and gorgeous. Luckily where we stayed, wifi reached our room. Originally, I did not think we had wifi in our rooms but maybe they all reach the rooms now. Lunch and dinner is delicious but a little pricey so be prepared for the cost. I would say all the food is freshly made and fruits and veggies are from their garden which is organically grown. We met their gardener, Sam, and wow did he blow my mind with all the gardening tricks and new plants I can grow. I would definitely recommend trying at least one cocktails at Gaia as they are uniquely made for Gaia so you most likely won’t find it anywhere else. The rooms were packed with towels for shower, towels for the waterfall, extra soft blankets, big spray, umbrella, and of course, all the bathroom necessities. I believe all the soap, shampoo, and conditioner were locally made and smell like menthol so if you don’t like that smell, bring your own! Overall, our experience at Gaia was great, we definitely felt safe and comfortable with such friendly staff. Oh as for excursions, we did the Mayan cultural tour and ATM cave, which I recommend the latter. If you want a jungle feel, Gaia is your place but be aware of the $ cost to meals and yours since there’s no other restaurant in the area, unless you have a car. Shout out to Loreni, Nigel, Calvert, Lucy, Darrel, Azel, Chris (great magician), and the rest of the staff for taking care of us.

Luxury and unspoiled beauty on the Caribbean Sea. Turtle Inn is a true labor of love. Less than a year after Francis and Eleanor Coppola acquired this beachside refuge in 2001, it was swept out to sea by the forces of Hurricane Iris. Turning disaster into triumph, the Coppola's led a two-year reclamation project, creating a magnificent resort that is consistently ranked among the best in Central and South America. This 28-room seafront hideaway combines natural wonders with luxury style. Accommodations are in individual thatched cottages, decorated with handcrafted Balinese furnishings and naturally cooled by the ever-present sea breezes. Just steps beyond your private deck, the beach dissolves into the Caribbean Sea. In addition, the resort has two infinity swimming pools, a spa, dive shop and three restaurants.
Gorgeous rooms and property! May 2022 Turtle inn exceeded our expectations! The staff knew us by name and took care of our every need. Samuel at the garden Jimmy at the bar and Jose at the frondesk were just amazing! We stayed in a 1 bedroom with a beautiful outdoor shower that was amazing! Showering al fresco was the best! The food at the restaurant was over the top. I'm still dreaming about the delicious urugula pizza! We also enjoyed swimming in the pool. We can't wait to come back to Turtle inn!

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Almond Beach Resort at Jaguar Reef and could not have had a better experience. There was a small snafu with our reservation a few days before we were set to arrive, which we later learned was because Prince William and Kate were going to be staying at the resort at the same time as us. Once we learned that was the reason (and had a few sightings of them while we were there!) we realized it was very much out of the resort's control and we still ended up in the original room we wanted. We stayed in one of the private beach front cottages and never wanted to leave! The staff made sure to go above and beyond to apologize for the inconvenience (which ended up not even being an inconvenience) and we were so grateful. Every single staff member at the resort was friendly, helpful, respectful, and made our experience that much better. We loved hanging out with the bartenders at the Big Dock Bar and pool bar. They put so much care into making the drinks delicious and by the third day of the trip, everyone knew us by name and had our favorite drink orders memorized. All the food was delicious, and service at the restaurant was always great. Booking excursions was also a seamless experience, and the staff that took us out for our snorkeling excursion were entertaining and made sure we were comfortable and safe the entire time. The resort is in a great location and across the street from a place where you can rent a golf cart to go explore Hopkins, which has a bunch of cool restaurants and bars with great prices. We could not recommend this resort more and absolutely will be back there one day!

Matachica Resort is an extraordinary, authentic and peaceful resort that sits directly on the beach facing the Caribbean Sea and the second largest barrier reef on the planet earth. The resort has 30 single unit casitas, each air conditioned with private porch. All rooms except SeaView Cabanas have one king sized bed, SeaView Cabanas have two queens. We also have two two-bedroom 2-bathroom Villas. All with beautiful Frette and Matouk linens, and exquisite decor. Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, spa, sea kayaks, snorkel gear, pedal boats, paddle boards, bicycles, complimentary internet access. A minimum age requirement of 16 years for children applies.
Aside from the bugs--and few insect repellent is provided everywhere--this place was perfect. I usually shame people who never leave the resort but I never wanted to leave. Food was extraordinary (former French Laundry chef), service exemplary (Julio, Gab, Archie, Job, Flor, literally everyone), tours phenomenal, rooms were luxurious and boutique-style. I wouldn't change a thing. Perfect.

There's so much to see at Sweet Songs.
Friendly staff that remember you after the first meeting. Thank you, Rita! I was there with 3 teen boys and they literally thought of the staff as family and the grounds as home by the end of our 4 days. We took the ATM Cave tour and the Xunantunich Ruins by horseback, leaving an entire day to tube, canoe and relax by the pool and on our treehouse hammock. One issue we had was with their booking agent trying to charge us an up fee on transportation. We had the all inclusive package and before we left for our trip they tried to charge me for transportation from the airport. I got that taken care of and then they did it again when we left. Thank goodness I had my confirmation emails where they clearly stated what was included with all of my details. Thankfully the front desk knew what they were doing was wrong and helped us clear it up. I’m sure it’s because the cost of gas has gotten so high, so be careful! The rooms are dark, so bring a reading light if you like to read in bed. The beach at the river is beautiful, but rocky, so bring water shoes. Bug spray.
