Top Notch Ski In/Ski Out Experience

Reviewed By CdnMtnGal

My family (2 adults and a 13 year old) spent a fabulous week at the Delta Mont Ste-Anne over the Ontario March Break holiday. To set the context, we are avid skiers/snowboarders and had been sorely missing our annual ski vacations during the pandemic. We drove through a heavy snowstorm from Toronto (stopping in Kingston overnight), and had a flat tire en route. My husband did a tire change by the side of the highway. By the time we arrived at the hotel, it was late, we were tired and my husband's clothes were completely grimy from the tire change. We were warmly greeted by front desk staff. I have Marriott Bonvoy gold status, and was given an upgrade to a one-bedroom penthouse suite. What a terrific way to make up for a stressful travel day! The suite was stunning, with a king bed, TV, powder room and laundry room on the top (loft) level, and a living room with sofa bed, another TV, full bathroom, full kitchen and eating area on the main level. Seeing the laundry room, I was happy to have an easy way to wash my husband's grimy clothes! The entryway had a roomy closet, and there was a handy bench underneath the stairs, ideal for sitting down to put ski boots on. Hooks on the wall were convenient for hanging ski jackets. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals during our week-long stay. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. I slept like a log every night. Every service request was met promptly and cheerfully. We needed extra bedding for the sofa bed, there appeared to be a slight issue with the room phone (which turned out to be our mistake), and the screen to the outdoor balcony had blown off due to strong winds. All of these issues were taken care of immediately. Staff were very friendly in their interactions with us. Being in a hotel, we had the advantage of daily housekeeping. The hotel is in a prime location at the bottom of the ski hill. There are ski lockers on the second floor, with easy access through a door that leads directly to the hill, a few steps from the gondola. It was easy to pop back in for lunch, then head out again. We had dinner on our last evening at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The cost of our stay was only slightly more than what we would have paid to stay in a one-bedroom condo. For the superior experience we had, it was definitely worth it. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Don't expect too much...

I bought a coupon on Tuango for La Camarine, it was a great deal and the pictures of the hotel looked adorable...oh the disappointment when we got there! Started with a friendly welcome, got the keys to our room and then...it was like travelling back to the 80'! The rooms are old and dusty, the bed was uncomfortable and so old, no coffee machine in the room, nothing (NOTHING) like the pictures we saw! I swear they took those picture from another hotel cause I couldn't see the resemblance at all! Then wen to take my shower and the bottle of shampoo and soap were half empty...they never changed them. When I went to the front desk to tell them that it was quite wrong not to change the little bottles and leave the half empty one from the person before, the person just said: Yeah, sorry that's really disgusting. And that's it, that's all they did! Otherwise, food was ok, nothing amazing but ok. Would not go there again and can't really recommend it, im sorry I really wish I could but this hotel needs a major facelift!

Run down, not clean,

Reviewed By RoberteGomes

I stayed this weekend at a condo at Mont Saint Anne’s in Quebec. I will start off by stating that the one staff member I did interact with was very nice. The condition of the facility seems a bit run down. Some sheets were NOT changed from the last people who visited. Dishes looked smudged, floor carpets were not properly cleaned. The beds were CHEEP AND CRACKED. It’s important to realize it’s off-season and I didn’t see any cleaning staff. But I was expecting a reasonable condition of a condo that someone owns. This is not a deal breaker because if you travel on Budget, you will eventually be disappointed. And The place is GREAT overall. This is to inform the facility Manager to get his or her place in order. And think about how you would feel if you entered a dirty house and expected to sleep on some one else’s dirty sheets. Mont St. Ann, Is great, and I still recommend it, but fix the facility. And off season is not a reason to not to keep floors, beds, and dishes clean and should be disinfected, especially during a pandemic. We were lucky we brought sleeping bags. And bottles of alcohol and wipes, but we did not use their dishes either. Oh, some of the wash cloths were stained.

We chose this resort because of the close proximity to Quebec City, very beautiful city and less than 30 minutes. Location was perfect for us. We stayed in a 1-bedroom condo/it was clean/complete with full kitchen, fireplace and private bath. All linens and towels provided. The mountain view from our unit was beautiful and the scenery along the St. Lawrence River is wonderful. Weather was ideal during our stay, enjoyed the pool and barbeque area…. Staff was accommodating, friendly and very helpful. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel……
