I had a quick supper at Dairy Queen. Pretty typical of other Dairy Queens. Good size so plenty of room to seat inside. It's located right next to the Travel Wise so walking distance to it. On Hwy 11 not far from downtown.

Billy's place is a great little newly opened restaurant in Beattyville. I stopped there with my party of 23 people and the orders were delivered perfectly with no confusion. Outside seating provides a beautiful view of mountains. The restaurant is also very kid friendly with booster seats, and even a couple child picnic tables outside. I got the Grilled Chicken Burger with crinkle fries and drinks within only 6 dollars. The quality of the food and service was worth the price. Make sure to try out Billy's Place.

The Art Factory Coffeehouse specializes in rich, bold, full bodied Italian espresso based drinks. We offer donuts and pastries made fresh daily as well as lattes, cappuccinos, frappes, iced coffee, frozen hot chocolates, and more. Breakfast menu and lunch menu available. Located downtown Beattyville across from city hall at 29 Railroad Street.
The Art Factory is an oasis of cool in the small mountain town of Beattyville. They have any coffee drink you would expect from a Manhattan barista. It is appointed with contemporary furnishings and the walls are decorated with local art. A VERY cool place to stop in for a latte and a quick bite.

A lot of people really like their hamburgers, but I go for their ice cream. Milk shakes are wonderful. It was listed in "Kentucky" magazine as one of the top ice cream places in the state.

I had a hamburger and it was excellent. My friend had their fish dinner and said it was very good. The baked potato was underdone initially, but they fixed it right away.

The food is from local farms and the burgers and cheeses are sooooo appetizing. They bring the best in freshly prepared foods to your table. The portions are huge, the food is unique and delicious, made from hand-selected, local produce and farms. You won't leave hungry or disappointed!
This is a small restaurant located intentionally in Wolfe County so they could offer beer on the menu.

He Bobcat Dairy Bar is a fast food style diner in Lee County (Eastern Kentucky). It has been operating in Beattyville for over 40 years. We offer a variety of sandwiches, dinners, soups and desserts. The Bobcat also offers gasoline sales and storage units. The Bobcat Restaurant was purchased in 1978 by friends Gene Flynn and Heber Dunaway. Gene eventually fell ill and passed, so his wife, JoAnn became an active partner in the restaurant. The Flynn and Dunaway families ran the Bobcat for over 35 years. The Bobcat Dairy Bar was purchased by Phillip and Karen Flynn Angel (daughter of Gene and JoAnn Flynn) in 2014. Phillip and Karen have 4 children; Holly Newman, Kara Williams, Brystal Angel and Bryce Ange
Totally enjoyed the catfish dinner with hush puppies and delicious cole slaw. The portions were very good. It cost $7.30 with coffee.

I traveled to Booneville this past week and this was one of the restaurants I was lucky enough to eat at. I really enjoyed the inexpensive burger and fry combo, though the burger wasn't outstanding. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was really greasy and messy. I liked the setup and atmosphere of the restaurant and I also enjoyed the outdoor seating. I would recommend this place on your trip to Booneville!

The only reason a 5 Star review isn't given is the condition of the facility. This restaurant is the former Purple Cow Restaurant for many many years. The tables and chairs are left over from the former business and show their wear and tear. But don't let that keep you away. The food and the friendly service are very reliable. The service is always fast and you'll always get refills before you realize you needed one! I'm glad this business is in place and using what could potentially be an abandoned building.

In an area with little entertainment and dining choices the Lee County Recreational Center is a great find. They are a Rec Center that has bowling, table and video games, basketball courts, and a fitness center. To go along with this they serve the best pizza in Beattyville along with such favorites as soft serve ice cream, milkshakes, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches, a variety of chicken sandwiches, cheese sticks, candy, chips, fries, bacon cheese fries, various coke products, and much much more. All prices for activities and food are well below what you would expect to find. Can't beat it! The Lee County Recreational Center could be filed under both attractions and restaurants.
Went to this Rec center a couple of times while in the area, and spoke to some of the employees and workers who helped run the center...extremely nice, sociable and informative of the area. The center offers bowling, billiards, ping pong, and even a fitness room. The center is a great place to hang out for kids, teens and a great community area that serves as a venue for the local bowling leagues. If you are rock climbing, biking, atv-ing, camping or whatever and in the need for something to do at night go HERE for the night and enjoy the center!
