We ate here for two nights, first night Pizzas, actually really good. We took a second night and chose dishes from the menu, which turned out to be a disaster. We were not he only family this evening 22. October 2018, that ended up complaining about the ordered dishes. We returned 2/3 of the meal, not at all corresponding to what we ordered and not what a decent restaurant in Oberammergau should serve. We had booked table for furher nights, but cancelled future reservations. The staff observed our complete disappoint with the dinner, and they offered us "one" slice of cake as compensation - we left the restaurant hungry and had to find another place to get food after paying 53 Euro for a dinner not edible. Sorry Wanninger, but you got to find a cook who knows how to cook, and not one who is use to serve at gas stations.

Visited here as recommended by our hotel.Decided to sit outside, which is a covered seating area holding about 5 or 6 tables, fairly close together.Started with a very consommé type Vegetable soup, even had sprouts in!This was ok but not the Minestrone type soup one is used to.Pizza, chorizo and cream was ok.As a non-smoker it was a shame we chose a night where the rest seemed to be smokers. It is also a shame that non smokers can't enjoy eating outside without having to inhale secondary expelled nicotine fumes! To compound this parents were oblivious to their children almost shouting in what is quite a confined area.

What a lovely atmosphere this restaurant has. It is very warm and welcoming with the various things the owners have collected and decorated the place with giving it a wonderful feel. Especially the glass lamps and shades. I had a mixed seafood pizza which unfortunately was not very interesting as the seafood had no real taste. My friends had calzone and pasta and both really enjoyed theirs. I would definitely go back. It was a great place to visit on a cold wintery evening.

Food, and good service. The veal was perfect, and all the pasta dishes are spot on. The 4 cheese pizza is done in a perfect Italian (and very possibly a New York) style. Drinks are on the small side but the wine selection is pretty good. After eating Herman food for a few days this is a great change. A++ food/ service/ // but the ambiance was a little lacking. It was becoming warm and the staff opened the windows for a breeze...no screen and we were attacked by literally dozens of flies..Im glad we were just about finished otherwise it would have been a big problem..Food was awesome...
Passed Da Massimo so many times and not visited. What a mistake to make! Great pizza and Spaghetti. Good beer. Friendly service, sun shining on the Ammergauer Rock. What more could you want?Highly recommended

I came here on my own and was made to feel very welcome. Some of the staff spoke some English .A lovely setting, by the lake, with indoor and outdoor seating.A good choice of menu, I only had pizza which was very good but the pasta dishes looked boot too.Nice clean facilities , good service and good value .As I'm in Germany for 10 days it made a pleasant change to have something different for dinner.

My wife and I wanted a light dinner and ordered tagliat al finerli and insalata casa. We enjoyed both of the meals very much. We sat outside enjoying the evening and the service was very good. Unfortunately, about three hours later, we both were experiencing an upset stomach and sickness. A great meal that went bad.

We arrived without a reservation and they found us a table. It was small and quaint, simple but tasty Italian food. The owners were friendly, convivial & a great front of house. It was busy and a constant stream of people kept arriving to eat but it only has 2 bench tables so get there first & be prepared to share!

Echo Bilocca80 comments of 6 January 2017. Painfully slow service as staff too busy filling out take-away orders and fawning over favourite customers. If you are daft enough to want to eat here, steer clear of the Zander (local fish) âSpecialâ as anything but; bread coated to bulk up a minuscule, dry, tasteless fillet. 13â pizzas okay but youâd be hard pushed to ruin one of them. If you want a proper meal, go to the Guggenberg Alm for excellent wholesome Bavarian fare.
