This small restaurant has 'bäck' in it's name, as it is a traditional 'fränkische Gaststube'. The meals are very tasty and the prices very reasonable! The restaurant servers local wines and a great variety of food. I had roasted duck, which was excellent. The 'Flammkuchen' is an excellent choice as well. During summer time you can sit on the patio, which is very small and cozy, grapes growing above it.Dear guest Glencheck, your review was written nearly seven years ago and we are proud that nothing has changed. My respect for the man who ran this restaurant before as I do my job just for two and a half years. Will the future be positive! In Bavaria more than 25 % of all restaurants and pubs closed their doors for ever and the Flammkuchen sometimes is last exit and it doesn´t belong to the Frankonian kitchen tradition.Maybe you will visit Würzburg once again - Then we meet in SophienBäck, okay?Sincerily - Your host Johannes and Sophie ;-)

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Strauss for two nights. This restaurant is attached to the hotel. We ate here our first day and the food was very good. The wait staff was nice. The girl who helped us spoke English and helped translate the menu. Most of the patrons in the restaurant were locals who sat chatting for long periods of time. Our bill for two meals and 4 biers was 48 Euro. During our hotel stay, our breakfasts were served in this restaurant. The breakfasts were terrific with every thing one could possibly want for a breakfast. We recommend this restaurant.

Awesome fresh burgers. You will find some great burgers with unique sauces etc...next to the usual Hamburger or Cheeseburger. Try those fries!! Yummy! I also love the location and the ambiente, especially the outdoor area in summer. It's alway (!!) quite crowded so make sure to reserve a table.

With its idyllic location next to the river Main the Brauerei-Gasthof Alter Kranen has already a gorgeous setting. But if you let your eyes wander around, you can enjoy a postcard panorama view with the Alte Mainbrücke, Käppele and the fortress. Try a fre
As we were dining on a Sunday night the whole town was crowded and the restaurant was no different. We managed to get a table where we had bratwurst sausages with sauerkraut and grilled fish, washed down with a local Riesling. We walked back to the hotel through the beer garden alongside the river, which was quite attractive and I expect would be very busy in summer.

This is an old hospital changed into a restaurant. It is welcoming. Donât let the small entrance fool you there is plenty of room. The food was average for the price but still very tasty. It was a good place to eat but most likely a place I will have forgotten in a year or so.
