We enjoyed our lunch break in this restaurant. The service is really fast. The food very tasty. The ice cream is homemade and also recommended from me.

Living in the Isle of Man in the middle of the sea, there is nothing unusual in going somewhere by boat. However, one day on holiday in Central Europe I sailed from Austria to Germany!I joined a day trip from Lech to Bregenz on the shore of the Bodensee, and then we went across to Lindau by boat. I enjoyed a walk along the shore, seeing some interesting birdlife on the way, and then picked a cafe at random for lunch.Kunst Cafe is on the corner of two streets with historical names, MaximilianstraÃe and ZeppelinstraÃe. I already knew the word âkunstâ from the Norwegian, translating into English as âartâ. Thus it does in German, too. Kunst Cafe lives up to its name, having lots of arty gifts for sale. Indeed, there was 50% off when I was there.I had a good tuna salad and a big bottle of German beer for all of â¬10, excellent value. Lindau island is very touristy, but I was told that prices were also reasonable at other places along MaximilianstraÃe.

Tourist hell, as listed in an earlier review, aptly describes the promenade of Lindau. So we weren't expecting much form this place when we stopped in for soup and salad at lunch. We had not read any reviews prior to eating there, so we thought, okay, nice scenery and people watching, let's go for it. We actually wound up dining there twice. Good mix of simple plates, bar food and local favorites.

Lovely meal at this very friendly and welcoming restaurant. The owner was lovely and very helpful. No problems serving a gluten free meal for my husband which was tasty and delicious and homemade by the owners wife....The food was all homemade and very well priced...great advice given on best wine to choose also.I would recommend pre booking as this restaurant is very popular and busy, although we did manage to get a table within 15 mins but in the summer I don't think that would be possible.Delightful and helpful owner who was happy to speak English to us as well....we will definitely return here when in Lindau again.
