Discover Restaurants offering the best Pub food in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany. With half a million people, Nuremberg is Bavaria's second largest city. While its history dates to the 11th century, Nuremberg is most often linked to the 20th century (specifically World War II). It first served as the site of many pre-war Nazi rallies, then was nearly leveled by Allied bombing, then was the site of the famous post-war Nuremberg Trials. The city has much to offer today's visitors, including the rebuilt Nuremberg Castle and the world-famous gingerbread at Hauptmarkt. Hansel and Gretel would have loved this place.

I didnât have any food, so I canât add to the mixed reviews on this site, but the beer was tops, and the whisky uniquely excellent for a non English speaking country. The Rotes was tasty and complex, the Schwartzes malty yet refreshing and the Weizen, fruity and delicious. Tried three whiskies, all great. The Ayla was a personal fave. Hope to get back here again.

Enjoyed dinner at the Pillhofer on a quick two-night stay in Nuremberg (staying at the Park Plaza 100m away).A restaurant with a lot of character, dark woods etc etc which served up tasty food of a typical Bavarian/Franconian nature eg goulash soup, schnitzel etc with good beer.Portions are of a good size, quality was very good, prices, in my view, very reasonable.Service is very friendly with English spoken which is useful for those of us whose German is "shrecklich"One slight word of warning.Although I believe you could eat at ground level, we ate on the 1st floor which MAY prove awkward for those of reduced mobilityBut overall, very pleasant!

We enjoyed our evening at O'Shea's so much that we returned the next day. Both times we had dinner there and were positively surprised by the boxty and salads. All the dishes we had were inexpensive, much lower priced than in other Nuremberg restaurants. The room indoors is very cozy and nicely decorated. Also, there is a wide range if different drinks, especially beer and cider. The staff was professional and very friendly. From one waitress we even got some tips for our holiday trip. The simple fact that we visited this Irish pub twice shows that we really liked it there and can definitely recommend it, especially if you want to have dinner in addition to your beer.

Something that often disappoints me about a lot of bars in Europe is the lack of good bar food. After walking the streets of Nuremberg, I wanted a Guinness and something to snack on. Finneganâs delivered. One plate of nachos and a couple of beers later, I was satisfied. Our waiter was hospitable and enjoyable to chat with. Combined with the outdoor seating, I really enjoyed my time here.On previous visits, I indulged in my share of Guinness with some buddies inside the pub. The bartenders were always great. The interior is what you would expect from an Irish pub which is why I love visiting them throughout Europe.
