Based on the recommendation we received we were expecting something more than an ordinary Gasthaus. The premises has been a restaurant for over 100 years. We arrived towards the end of the noon hour. I ordered the breaded cutlet and my wife a Zander fillet. Each was accompanied by a yogurt salad and potatoes.Service was relatively quick and the salad was excellent, if typical Gasthaus fare. The two main courses each had the look of ready-prepared food from a restaurant supplier. The cutlet was covered in a uniform mantel of bread crumbs. The Zander came as a fillet of half a fish, minus the head and tail. It too was so uniformly formed that it seemed ready-prepared by the supplier. Each main course was of average quality, no better and no worse. The accompanying potatoes were the same. The total bill came to 36,40â¬. If an ordinary meal at an ordinary price is OK for you, you will probably not be disappointed. We expected more for the price charged.

I was an US Army Officer in the 2nd Squadron 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment stationed in BK in the early 60s. I visited the Bratwurst Glockle weekly if not more often. Local beer on tap, great food in a beautiful restaurant. We always went to the 2nd floorI returned with my son last year. You can go back. Great food and also wine. The local food is hardy but delicious. I was overjoyed to return with my son Pat Berrigan, Jr. Great place, great memories.

The accomodation is absolutely perfect. Nice inner terrace, antique furniture all over the restaurant, personnel nice dressed. UThe low energy lights in the restaurant are a bit flashy; good lightning in Germany seems to be an issue all over the country. It took a long time before we got the menu and it took aven more time to place an order. Very easy we ordered two times the "Rhöner Teller", one without backed potatoes plus some extra salad, plus a botle of medium sparkling water. When the water was served the waitress forgot to start the serving with the lady at the table. The main course served looked good as well as the accompanying salad. The tasting was different: The meat was cooked to fast and on a too high temperature, the baked onions were to salty and the salad was to sweet. After all it was not bad, but could have been much better.
At Kunzmann's you experience culinary delights - modern and light, thanks to fresh and regional specialties. Due to the changing menu you will experience the diversity and true taste of Rhön products.

The restaurant is nice and in a lovely rural location. However, we cannot recommend staying the night in the rooms above the restaurant especially not in room 16. There is noise and activity from the car park and the restaurant and bar are open till late and resume early. Tuesday is the only quiet day.

Bad Kissingen isn't a place you go for the food. Most restaurants serve your average German/Franconian food, so that Schubert's provided a welcome change. I was lucky and got a table on Saturday night without having reserved. It helped that I was alone (although this can sometimes be detrimental). I got a table in the old, original part of the restaurant, had very attentive service, and enjoyed my food. The cuisine is more nouveau German than very Franconian - so if you are looking for typical local cuisine, you might want to go elsewhere. But if you want a new take on classic dishes, this is the place to go.And of course they have a great wine list and the prices are reasonable.

Intimes Ambiente. Preis- Leistung OK
