We came here with some colleagues from work after training. The terrace was a great surprise. I had been inside the restaurant and itâs a typical old Bavarian style. Very nice place with great food and beer, typical German restaurant from Bavaria. All the food that we had was great. The prices are very good for what you eat and drink.

For a short business trip I visited the city of Hof at the Bavarian Siberia. This cosy Restaurant at the Ludwigstr. 22 right in the centre of Hof had been recommended by another vistor to me. At the last day of October many Germans are dedicated to the Reformation Day, as a reminder of Luther's Reform Church many years ago, others follow Halloween. I had no time to do both and walked quickly to this cozy German restaurant. Accompanied by a "Spezi" I enjoyed the "baked aubergines with white cheese", a very tasty vegetarian dish. In addition to this dish of the day a number of other dishes with meat or fish were offered. Everything made me a very appetizing impression, accompanied by friendly attentive staff. On top of that I liked the reasonable prices.

Really, the food is good, also the beers and the place is fantastic, but I donât know why the service is slow and not very polite. We went with a friend that lives in Hof and he was really surprised of the attitude of the waiters. We were friends drinking and eating and had to wait all the time for the waiter to come back to see if we needed more drinks. Maybe the owner is rich and doesnât need to make money.

This is not a main-street location, but worth visiting. You will have to know this restaurant to find it.The food is very good mid-german type of food, but very well prepared. The service is fine and the price is good.

We ate here with some colleagues from RAPA and it was a good meal. It was something a little different than the small town of Selb had to offer. The service was good and the atmosphere is nice

Here is the short summary for those that like it compact:Good:- Clean and spacious room- Friendly and helpful staff- Good breakfast- really tasty dinnerNot so good:- No elevator- Choices of desertsBad:- nothing to our experienceRecommandable:- AbsolutelyAnd now the long summary:Upon arrival the check on was quick and we went up to the room in second floor.Room was spacious and clean. The room we had was also well maintained.Bed was comfortable and typical German twin bed with the gap between the two mattresses as in Germany, as in many other European countries, king size bed with just one mattress are not so common.Additional pillows where provided on request.Bathroom was clean, size was within what I would call standard - maybe a little larger than usually. The staff was very friendly from start to end. They helped with the luggage, provided information for my wife to go shopping and Christmas market and advised that on Friday morning check out could take longer since all guests will leave (hotel closed during Xmas, Restaurant would stay open on 26/27 and really busy). The hotel was nicely decorated with Christmas themes and has the charm of a family run hotel.Wlan was steady and quite quick as well as included in the hotel price. A pleasant surprise in Europe where still many hotels charge exorbitant for internet connection.Breakfast was good in choice and quality. The scrambled eggs where a pleasant surprise as they where fluffy and creamy even though kept in a warning pan! Some of the best I ever had in Germany!!My wife loved the salmon that was available as well (Don't know if that is standard part of their breakfast). The restaurant was quite busy and we learned from other guests that reservation is recommended- even if you are staying in the hotel!!The reason became quite obvious soon.Food was excellent! They have own farm for deer, sheep and cow. For other products they also seem to be carefully selecting their suppliers and that pays off.You may also purchase some of their products to take home as did we. And they where very much liked by those we gave them to...The choices of deserts however was disappointing! Mainly icecream which was not homemade either...I would have loved to see just a few typical, local deserts which would have been a perfect finish for the great main dishes we had.Should we be in the area again we certainly would choose to stay here again and can recommend it to others as well.

I really enjoyed staying there with my colleagues. Huge variety of rare beers in affordable prices. Interiors are really nice and welcoming, just like all pubs should be like. Staff can tell you a lot about the beers they serve. Snacks were good and worked well as a company to the drinks.

Between Freiheitshalle and Hotel Central Hof · Partner of SORAT Hotels, the Kastaniengarten Restaurant is one of the cities best kept secrets. Laid back and informal, the Kastaniengarten offers a comfortable setting and friendly, efficient service and the
It's the restaurant from Hotel Central. It's not a cheap restaurant but fair. I have had a small menu but I ordered it without dessert and they reduced the price accordingly. Here you get very high quality food; specially the Black Angus Beef is fantastic (one of the best I ever had). Also nice ambience in addition with attentive staff. No stress or arguing with colleagues as other reviewers wrote. Waiting time is absolutely acceptable even if the restaurant is very occupied. All in all a obvious recommendation.Thank you very for your delightfully concise review, rogerfz. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your time with us and found the atmosphere, service and food so much to your liking. We shall pass your wonderful comments to the rest of our team and hope that we can welcome you back again soon. Best regards from Upper Franconian, your Kastaniengarten restaurant team in Hof

Season is a really cool restaurant with extremely well tasting food. We especially enjoyed the starters which were delicious. Portions are well sized and prices are reasonable for the quality of food you can expect. We will definitely be back!
