Das Restaurant ist im schönen Burghausen in Burgnähe. Der Wöhrsee ist auch zu Fuà zu erreichen. Von daher ist es sehr praktisch dort mal Pause zu machen.

This little restaurant bring a really new flavour to a small Bavarian town.Have a really varied menu with some Indian dishes on there, but also dishes for people who don't like the indian taste.Portions are enormous and it's good value for money. The food itself was also really tasty.Would go there again.

Wonderful service and traditional meals. Excellent veal schnitzel, beef& gravy, and pork schnitzel. We enjoyed lunch and beers after walking the grounds. Nice little break then headed down to old town.

Bavarian inn since 500 years. Local beers, wines from Austria and Germany. Local kitchen with Bavarian specialities like "Krustenbraten" and "Zwiebelrostbraten from the rumpsteak". Enjoy fresh fish, for example the whole saibling from the near monastery.
I can't complain at all about the food. Great selection of traditional dishes, all well presented and reasonably priced. We had the schnitzel and the brats with kraut and were very satisfied.the service was slow yet curt. No compliments there.

While researching some family history in nearby Marktl (Pope Benedict's home town), we were directed to Burghausen Rathaus (city hall) for additional records searches. Clerk recommended Hotel Post for " very good lunch". Glad we did. Had the occasion to visit with Hans Mitterer (owner). Ever the gentleman Hans explained how he created chain of 4 hotels and five distinct restaurants. He has ceded control of day-to-day operations to 2 daughters and 1son. Hans is the epitome of a "hands on" owner. Waitress says only day he doesn't come in is Fridays. Aside from conversation, the cuisine is excellent. On premise brewed bier and traditional Bavarian fare. My Wiener schnitzel was fresh and perfectly fried with just the right amount of breading. My wife's pork dipped in beer gravy, and accompanied by seasonal vegetables was delicious as well. Side salads consisted of fresh greens, corn, julienned carrots, tomatoes, and onions topped by a homemade vinaigrette. Service was friendly and reasonably efficient. Wonder what the rest of the family restaurants are like?

Very good seasonal food, excellent quality, very reasonable priced served by local people. You can visit this location all year - it's very nice and traditional indoor but especially recommendable outdoor. The calm place invites for a walk after finished with food. The perfect place to visit with kids as well.

During summer they have a small menu for dinner, so not a huge choice. Started off with simple but tasty brushette. The a whole grilled forelle, took some cleaning but was good and they do have a good choice if ice creams had the tropical heat or sonething like that. Good austrian wines to go along the food.

Friendly and fast service and the Apple strudel (Apfelstrudel) tastes great! Meanwhile one can âpeople watching (crowd watching) from the terrace. It is also possible to have just a coffe or a sip, or chose something from the menu (german quisine, but also pizza or spaghetti or a snack).

Plenty of options. Salads, soups, traditional dishes, and sandwiches. All dishes we tried where perfect. Schnitzel, curry sausage, chicken curry and veggies. Great atmosphere for drinks and coffee in addition to dinner. Reasonably priced and good service.

I was on business trip in Burghausen, and after 2 days of so-so eating I wanted a "revenge"!So with help of my navigator in car and tripadvisor I found this lovely place...It is located in a monastery (Kloster in German) and the restaurant was open and full of people. Nevertheless they found me immediately a table, and served me a typical and very tasty lunch. Soup was OUTSTANDING, and the schnitzel after also. When i will return in that area surely I will make a detour to go back there.Very suggested
