This is a small place and a favorite of cyclists who travel the path along the Danube. When it is warm enough, there are tables and benches in the garden. During winter, there are just a couple of tables indoors. There was only one waitress who ran the entire time trying to keep up. Good food and several beers on tap. The owner is a special character. When our host phoned to see if the restaurant was open, he was told there was no point in coming because the kitchen would soon close (before 19.00). We went earlier the next day and had a good meal. No finesse, but charming in a way.

We had the Chateaubriand, we were able to have it for 3 people and the food was excellent. Nice sides top quality food. It's not inexpensive but worth it. Definitely a place for a special dinner.

We were boating on the Donau with family and stopped here - docked our boat - and ate outside in the patio. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. This is good Bavarian food.

all you can eat Schweinaxen!!!! It's awesome, they also bring knudels in a night vase (you probably don't want to translate this one) and salad with it. Second round is not as good as the first one but maybe we were unlucky.... great price, 15 min from Regensburg. Some dessert are served in a dust pan, for fun. Steffy one of the waitress is supernice.Dig in!

Had an OK meal and a good beer served by a nice waitress. So far so good... Before we went in we saw a sign showing a card in a terminal, so we thougt we where good holding several different kinds of creditcards between us. Turned out we where not. Something which was explained to us by an ill-mannered and rather unpleasant boss of the establishment. German cards only, we should have understood that. Well we had not, and althoug we of course offered to go to the nearest atm to get cash, he stayed rude and unpleasant. One of us was taken âhostageâ in the restaurant while the oher got the cash. Well, he got his money and we were allowed to leave together... And as you have guessed - weâre not coming back anytime soon.

After a long drive through Germany all day it was fantastic to sit in a quiet place on the terrace overlooking the golf court - and having GREAT German wines with excellent food.

Went to Bad Abbach to visit my aunt who is rehabilitating from a hip replacement. Had no idea what my afternoon would be like! I expected the nearby restaurant to be a regular biergarten or small place but did not expect this gem in the middle of the country side ( in a village.) Menus did not come in English, but my cousin did a good job translating, so my friend and I just went with it. Who know we would get such well thought-out and delicious flavor combinations, and gorgeous platings. We took photos of every dish. My sister is a chef so I'm no novice to an excellent meal. (I even wrote down the descriptions of the butters for her!) The ambiance on the enclosed porch was beautiful and we enjoyed a surprisingly delicious bottle of the Schwogler vineyard's wine. A bit of a wino, I was pleasantly surprised at this dry white that was delightfully complex. (Server was a little clumsy with the presentation, but didn't mind.) I did not help with the bill although I tired so I cannot comment on the price, but regardless the value was priceless. Ultimately I joked with my cousin- "Did you put my aunt in the nearby (and lovely) rehab center solely for the placement next to this restaurant?" He just smiled.

The restaurant aspires to gourmet status and on initial view it looks the part - except for the paper napkins on the white linen tablecloth. The menu offered a good selection of somewhat imaginative meals. We ordered a fish and a meat dish. My wife chose to order wine with her meat - a mistake in beer country. Both meals were excellent in taste and pleasing in appearance. The beer was good, but the house red wine was rather ordinary for a restaurant with high aspirations. The restaurant was not crowded, but there was a steady flow of customers. Service was good. We also had a non-German waiter, but unlike another reviewer, our service was friendly and well above average.I recommend the restaurant, the food, the service, but not the wine
