Stopped at Geigerhaus for a Sunday lunch. Sat outside overlooking this pretty town. Service was good, our waitress could speak English and the menu is comprehensive. What I liked most about this restaurant was the food. It was good sized servings, tasty and well presented. Being such a nice setting, we spent 2 hours sitting on the terrace enjoying observing the activity in the main street of historic Muhldorf while having a beer. Well done Geigerhaus.

During summer they have a small menu for dinner, so not a huge choice. Started off with simple but tasty brushette. The a whole grilled forelle, took some cleaning but was good and they do have a good choice if ice creams had the tropical heat or sonething like that. Good austrian wines to go along the food.

I was on business trip to Austria and I stay in Kirchdorf am Inn at Gasthaus Marienhof only for one night but I can say it was very good place to stay. When I arrive at the Gasthaus it was already 9.00 p.m. and the kitchen was closed. But staff was so kind and somehow manage to prepare something to eat which was great but at the and they offer us a dessert and I decide to take "apffelstrudel" (apple pie) and I didn't regret. It was most delicious "apffelstrudel" I ever eat. Breakfast was also great with variety of local specialities. Everything was in traditional style and very carefully designed and with taste. If I ever go again in Kirchodrf am Inn again it will be because the "apffelstrudel" I'll never forget. I am little disappointed that I had no more time to stay at Gasthaus Marienhof to try something else from the cousin but you never know.Maybe next time.

Friendly and fast service and the Apple strudel (Apfelstrudel) tastes great! Meanwhile one can âpeople watching (crowd watching) from the terrace. It is also possible to have just a coffe or a sip, or chose something from the menu (german quisine, but also pizza or spaghetti or a snack).

This is the venue where my father and I go when I am back in Germany. I must say that I am always pleasantly surprised by the freshness and the taste of the food as well as the hospitality of the hosts.

I found this place by chance. It was my first night ever in Germany; a business trip brought me to Deggendorf for a much too short stay. The Stadtplatz seemed like a good place to start, and I chose the Goldener Engel because it looked good Not speaking German myself, my waitress was wonderful by speaking English as well as she could (she knew enough and pantomimed the rest!), and then found a menu for me translated into English. She was able to recommend traditional fare I'd like and special beer. Her help was perfect.I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food was hot, beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. (I had a venison platter.) The special "cloudy" Arcobrau was so good I had to have another. A gentleman who had lingered at a table nearby with his friends came over and, in broken English, introduced himself and welcomed me to Deggendorf.I left after I, too, had lingered to soak in the ambiance. I left satisfied, full, happy and glad to have made unexpectedly made new friends. I may never have a chance to return to this part of the world, but I hope I do. I promise to enjoy another meal at the Goldener Engel if I can and hope this review might encourage someone else to give it a try.

I was on business trip in Burghausen, and after 2 days of so-so eating I wanted a "revenge"!So with help of my navigator in car and tripadvisor I found this lovely place...It is located in a monastery (Kloster in German) and the restaurant was open and full of people. Nevertheless they found me immediately a table, and served me a typical and very tasty lunch. Soup was OUTSTANDING, and the schnitzel after also. When i will return in that area surely I will make a detour to go back there.Very suggested

Lovely renovated historic building. Staff friendly and helpful - our waitress anett spoke English as well as her native German. We started our side in the covered patio area , but soon came inside when a thunderstorm arrived.Food was delicious - I had salmon with pasta and my friends had the ladies special - Turkey and Mediterranean vegetables. Very nice and flavoursome and large portions. Would recommend .
