The view from the terasse in a sunny winter day is really breathtaking so it really does not matter what you are eating or drinking. But even the food is excellent and I recommend the home made apfelstrudel!!!
I have heard that Gasthaus zur Traube is recommended in the Marco Polo guide. The cuisine is excellent. I had a salad, veal stroganoff and a salad which is served with fresh hash browned potatoes nicely presented as a side dish in a pan. This is one of their specialties and they seem to have many regulars. The atmosphere is country style, and simple but nicely decorated. The chef was very presentable a greeted us and had to time talk as we left. The customer service is family oriented and down to earth. Close by to the restaurant are great hiking areas like the Ice Tobel in Isny or the Scwarze Grad.

Regional Restaurant, specialized on "all handmade" food - no convenience. The speciality of the restaurant is real barbecue from wood-fired smokers, combined with the regional bavarian and swabian kitchen. The chef is also in a regional TV show called "Wi
We ate here on our last night staying on the campsite on whose grounds this restaurant sits. However it is entirely independent. As with other reviews this was also one of our nicest meals on our German holiday. This restaurant specialises in BBQ with a number of sophisticated smokers and types of BBQs. They also have a full menu of other items including burgers steaks and Pasta . We had a soup of the day a lovely creamy horseradish soup, I had the ribs with a southern US style whiskey sauce and my wife the schnitzel. Service was great again the best on our trip with an attentive waitress for whom nothing was too much trouble, a side of slaw for my ribs not on the menu. Good local range of beers and wine.Hello Drew, thanks a lot for your kind reward! We are glad to hear that you're enjoying the time in our restaurant! You're ever welcome back! Very best regards from the lake of constance, Jasmin Schwabe-Winter & Klaus Winter

This restaurant definitely deserves its place in the Michelin guide. The decor is contemporary yet warm and there is a nice terrace in the back that is shielded from the sun by vines. The staff is very professional (but not snobby), efficient and attentive. The food is delicious! Regional dishes prepared with a skilled hand. Nice presentation, without the food just being piled on the plates. Simply, wonderful cuisine.

This restaurant has a very nice patio to enjoy your meal. On cool evenings, seat cushions are provided, as well as lap blankets. I had been traveling over a week and was craving something green. The menu has many delicious salads from which to choose. I had a chef's salad with beets, carrots, cucumber, ham, Swiss cheese, and the house dressing, accompanied by delicious chewy bread. My dining partners had pizza and sandwiches. Also on the menu are regional favorites and pastas. You will not be disappointed!

We used to go there quite often but that day was horrible. We waited very long for our pizzas. Then they did not come all together. One of us had to wait another ten minutes. Then we discovered several stones in one of the pizzas. Instead of an excuse she was dissecting the pizza in front of us. We got a Tiramisu as compensation but nobody asked whether we liked to have that. Later when we paid the bill the owner was rude. Besides that we really did feel well served with drinks. It's a pity because the restaurant used to be really good, but things must have changed. Won't go there again. The atmosphere was horrible at our table. We usually do not only go in a restaurant because we need food but also because we want to have a good time, but the owner seems not to understand this.

We had several meals here, It was always nicely prepared and very good, sitting on the terrace outside looking on the sea! In Germany you had the expression "Gut Bürgerlich", this is a level higher, even if it is not gourmet. Highly recommended! As for wine they had a choice of open wines, but they were all of a rather simple quality. Also wines in bottle were limited in choice. Draft beer is good here. Service friendly. But it must be said: In this place the prices are low, so value for money is very good.
However, the staff is welcoming and the service is good. Prices were a bit on the high side for what you get, but over all the food was well prepared with fresh ingredients.

Visited this restaurant together with my family. My father loves this place. The service is excellent. Servers are more than friendly and very fast. My Cordon Bleu was excellent but others didn't like the food that much or said it was standard. You will be full afterwards. That is for sure. Portions are big. The variety of beers available is great.

Visited Scheidegg because of a family celebration. We went to that Restaurant in a group of eleven. Everyone was satisfied with the food. I had the fillet steak from an Allgäu Cow (Allgäu is the region) which was slightly overcooked but the quality was excellent. Gluten Free options are available which is great for allergic people. Service is good. Servers wear typical Bavarian dresses (Dirndl) which is very authentic. It is a bit more pricy compared to other restaurants in Scheidegg but absolutely reasonable. Can recommend this restaurant.
