Very cosy restaurant nestled into the middle aged ring wall gate to the east of Lauf 's Main square. A large variety of mouthwatering regional cuisine dishes are served. I had a rather simple franconian Bratwurst, served with Sauerkraut. Perfectly prepared and served by attentive personnel. My partner had a Schaeufele, the typical franconian roast pork shoulder cut. Served with potato dumplings. All very tasty although a bit heavy on the stomach as a dinner. Very recommendable place.

This venue was suggested by our friends as having the best steak in the region, so that was the obvious choice from the menu. Chef Christian really knows his trade. He personally greeted us, then went to work his magic. I must say, a super prime cut, cooked absolutely to perfection. Looking at the other dishes, they are also of the same standard, however if you are a steak connoisseur do not pass it up here. The venue has a lovely historic ambience and great views. Service was friendly, with menu in English and German. Definite for a repeat visit. A special place. Well done Chef!!

This genuine Bavarian restaurant with an almost caricaturally decorated interior full of Teutonic paraphernalia was fully-booked with locals on a Saturday evening. The trout was fresh to the bone and full of flavour although a wee bit âoverfriedâ. The accompanying salad was good as well. The wheat beer (Tucher Hefeweissbier) was absolutely outstanding and paired perfectly with the dish.Service was inevitably slow but friendly. The bill including dessert for two persons came to 45 Euro.Sehr gut.
Nice place, wry local and informal, no table service so you have to order in a window and get called when itâs ready. The Tafelspitz is great.Good for a beer after a walk in the area, somehow crowded on sunny Sundays

I was here together with my mom for Heilig Drei Konige Brunch. We eat here from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., finishing with tasty dessert. As a welcome drink we get a glass of champagne, it was delicious. First round it was breakfast, swedish table where you could found everything from cornflakes to scrambled eggs, finishing with regional cheese and sausage. Later soup and main course, traditional bavarian food. Every week there is other motive in restaurant, like Mexican-brunch or evening with barbecue. After eating it's worth to go for a walk around small village Kleedorf. :)

This is a family run butchers and restaurant serving good wholesome Franconian cooking. The food is freshly cooked to order, the service is efficient and friendly as the amount of locals will testify to its authenticity. Set slightly out of the centre of town a quiet place to eat with a little river running at the back of the property makes it a lovely place even for a drink of cold Hersbrucker beer and watch the ducks on the water.
At the first glance, the restaurant looked like a small local tavern, but it turned out that there were huge dining rooms slightly "hidden". Despite this size, it was practically full, so a reservation is recommended at the peak hours. The food is mainly local, very local, as they have their own butchery, and it is quite affordable, too. The drinks are also provided by a local small brewery, which is always really nice in Bavarian restaurants. If you're not a fan of the traditional Bavarian food, then this is probably not your place, but otherwise clearly recommendable. Then the minuses. It was one of the really cold days of the winter and we were seated in the first room from the entrance, which meant a constant draught. The second minus comes stems from the peak-hour visit: it took a while to be able to communicate with the waiter in every step.

We had just finished an hour and a half walk up a hill and through the woods in the snow and we were pretty hungry. We decided to take a chance on the Restaurant Zum Arzberg. We really got lucky. Within our group we had the Kräuter Gemüse, Forelenfilets, Kotelette and Schnitzel. Everything was great. We also had Eis for dessert. The prices were reasonable and our waitress was helpful and attentive. The decor was unexpected. It is not typical German and reminded us more of a dining room in Italy. It was comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to others.Danke für Ihre Bewertung des Restaurant Zum Arzberg.Wir hoffen Sie bald wieder bei uns begrüÃen zu dürfen.Mit freundlichen GrüÃenKarin & Marco Endner

Arrived really late at 9 pm, as our reservation in another place fell through, but that was no problem. Lots of seating, beautiful outdoor area with flowers and old watermill, tables well spaced.Service was quick and friendly, free bread came with the drinks. 3 dishes (all meat) were very nice, the fish was a bit disappointing.Prices as can be expected in Germany. I can recommend this restaurant.
