My brother and I stayed overnight at a nearby hotel in Gunding and they recommended this place for dinner. It was a bit hard to find (you need GPS), but well worth it! We arrived to discover the restaurant had set up an outdoor BBQ with fresh selections of meat ready to cook. My brother and I both tried the Beef Ribs and they were suburb! Just when we thought we were finished with our ribs, the waitress brought us a couple more - she must have seen how much we enjoyed them; now that is service. The beer garden is expansive and nicely decorated - they even have covered areas when it rains. But on the night we were there the weather was wonderful - perfect for BBQ and great beer. I checked the rest of the menu and it was expansive - with a huge variety of great Bavarian selections to choose from. This turned out to be the best meal we had during our 4-day visit driving through Bavaria. We visited on a weeknight and expected there to only be a light crowd; but by 8PM the outdoor area was almost full. So arrive early and enjoy yourself!

My family had a fantastic meal here last week. The schnitzels were perfect and the sides including the salad, German potato salad, and even the fries were beautifully presented and delicious. Service was warm and friendly. A highlight of my trip to Germany. Sometimes it is the small local out of the way places we find almost by accident that are the real hidden treasures.

This is what would say an Italian for an expresso which has no taste. Here the expressi are to die for, the food less. Cosy, elegant tiny âItalianâ restaurant which offers large choice of excellent wines and Prosecco and limited of food. Tasty prosciutto crudo, tasty beef but uninteresting fillings of the lobster tortellini. Unfortunately because shrimps were excellent and salsa perfetta. Must return.

Steirer is one of our favourite restaurants in Bavaria. The food is über original and made from scratch. The restaurant and building has a warmth to it, and it is clean and the staff is friendly. This is really exquisite place to take the family or have a romantic night with a partner. The staff and chef met my husbands dietary requests with a smile, he is gluten-free and lactose intolerant. Others have a higher rating of this Italian restaurant. We found this one as kids were tired of German food. We arrived as they opened, and were treated nicely. Menus were well worn, but that was ok. Food and drink came fast, which was ok. Pizzas were just ok; however, several of us got pasta, and it wasn't very good. The server was joking around with everyone, but didn't seem very accommodating. It was clear that we were outsiders, probably because we spoke mostly English. However, I speak German, so we communicated ok. What really irritated us was that two cars of "regulars" at the restaurant blocked us in the small parking lot. My son got his rental car out ok, and finally the other car was moved to help me get out. The parking lot is admittedly small, but there was no excuse for this. Next time I'll go elsewhere.

Always a pleasure here..husband wife team... Husband is a genius in the kitchen... Always seems to have a new tricknup his sleeve...Small and cozy ...recommend to reserve in advance...can't really recommend a dish as they always changing...number one place to go in the old town....Danke für Ihre gute Bewertung. Definitely suggest coming here! Loved the beer available right on tap and also the friendly workers (who speak english and were super helpful, providing tips about the area.). Definitely check it out!
