Known for its beer, sausages, Oktoberfest and lederhosen, Bavaria is Germany’s largest federal state and one of its most popular tourist destinations. It's also one of the most independent-minded regions. Home to cities like Munich (the capital) and Nuremberg, Bavaria is also cherished for its hilly countryside, where such gorgeous sites as Hohenschwangau Castle, Neuschwanstein Castle (the model for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland) and Linderhof and HerrenChiemsee Palaces can be found.

We had the chance to spend a night at the Camping Resort in Bodenmais last week. The Resort is situated just about a mile outside Bodenmais. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Check-in was painless. The Resort is beautiful and newly build. It has a pool, a spa, a restaurant with a Biergarten, a playground and playhouse for kids. Camping Resort is very clean and the food in the Biergarten is amazing. Best of all, however, is the "out-of-this-world" sunset at night!

After leaving the ferry at Rotterdam we chose this site as perfect a stop over on our way to Austria . Although we arrived after 7pm we did try phoning numerous time to say we would be late but no answer , a letter was left on the reception door to show where we had to park up . We really did not have a clue where to go because it was dark and we needed water to fill up as we were empty . After half an hour looking for a water station that had not had its tap removed we finally found one by the toilets so we could fill up with water . We parked up and got plugged in . All had a good nights sleep and the site served its purpose .Had a walk by the lake and the grandchildren played on the play area . Used the shower block which is new and clean Never saw any staff so can not comment on them like other reviewers have had problems . We had somewhere to stay night and pre paid that’s all we were bothered about The Motor Home service point was closed which we noticed in the day light and all taps removed so lucky we found one by the toilet . There was somewhere for emptying our toilet and put our rubbish . It looks like locals have annual sites here so a wide selection of make shift outfits There are some pods if you don’t have your own MH or caravan There is a restaurant /pub on site which we did not go into but looked nice Site is a very natural setting

We stayed at the "Witch house". A beautiful looking traditional style German cottage from if I remember correctly the 13th century, indeed in the style of the witch house of Hans and Griddle. The house is spacious, with a little garden and a porche next to a stream with a water mill. The kids were having fun building dams or were finding secret ways around the house. There are 3 beds on the second floor and 2 matrassen on the attic and if needed there is a sofa in the living room that can be made into a bed. There is a BBQ/fire place in the garden so we grilled steak and spareribs a few evenings and sat next to the fire till very late which was lovely. The kitchen is fully equiped to make dinner. We made a few trips to Rothenburg ob der Tauber (must do), Wurzburg (very nice), Bamberg and an out door pool. Not very close but very much doable especially as the surroundings of the drive there are very nice. We'd love to stay in such a beautiful house in the nature from where we could make this day trips. The price of the house for what you get is very good. I highly recommend!

Stayed for 4 nights on this fabulous site. Facilities were the best I have ever seen, spotlessly clean and gallons of hot water. Location was superb close to the the lake and a short walk into town. Free bus into Fusson, a beautiful town with lovely architecture. WiFi was non existent, reception staff helpful and friendly, a little overpriced. Children’s facilities were excellent, so why oh why did the family next to us insist on kicking a ball at tea time whilst we were trying to enjoy our meal when a huge grassy area was 10 feet away!! Would highly recommend and return if ever in the area again.

Five Star Camping near Castle Neuschwanstein
We were lucky enough to have our pitch located on the edge of the lake, the facilities are of outstanding quality the small shop offers essentials and fresh bread daily, supermarket a short walk. Located in the foothills of Neu schwanstien, and 5 minutes from the Austrian border.

The areas for motorhomes & caravans are well maintained The staff are very friendly and helpful we would highly recommend this site & well done to the owner & all the staff. We will definitely return for another visit.

Stayed here two nights with my boys. The shower block was in good shape, lots of hot water. There was a nice indoor common room which came in handy on a cool night (with a beer vending machine which was fun to use). It is right down the hill from Rothenburg, in a great location. I would stay again!

This is a lovely site and facilities, with fabulous views. Our enjoyment was cut short, however, when we went in to pay. We had received a reply from the site several days before we arrived (see photo) saying that they accepted ACSI, so we expected to pay no more than €20 per night, plus tourist tax, and when we checked in we showed the girl our ACSI card to which she replied "ok". However, when we went to pay we were told that they dont give ACSI discount and we ended up paying full price, which was way more than we had budgeted for, €129 more infact! Had we known this we would only have stayed for 2 or 3 nights instead of 7. The owners need to make sure if anyone asks if they accept ACSI, that they do not reply giving the false impression that they do......

Stopped here without booking as it is in very convenient location. Reception shut from 12.00 to 2.00 pm and there is no indication if there are places or not. Man in restaurant was rude and unhelpful merely saying we had to wait for reception to open
