It is a very basic place. A restaurant that has local personality, a few tables and chairs, a couple of broken fans on the walls and not much else. The kitchen is in the front and again, very basic but the food that comes out of there is marvelous! I put my order in ahead of my husband's. I ordered steamed vegetarian dumplings and fried noodles with egg. We waited for someone to come and take my husband's order but in the meantime, others came in and were served. Finally, my husband was able to get his order placed. He ordered the same as I had ordered. I don't know if that is where the confusion came in or what. He got the vegetarian plate...veggies and tofu, with no rice. I got the fried noodles with egg. Both dishes were delicious. Then, we waited for the steamed vegetarian dumplings.....and we waited.....and we waited. Others who came in after us were served. We asked for the steamed dumplings again and waited. Again, others were served. Just when we had found someone who spoke both English and Cambodian and had asked them to help us, our steamed dumplings arrived. Only, they were pork dumplings!!! I was a tad upset, I have not eaten any pork for over 30 years. We had the gentleman translate for us and finally, we received our steamed dumplings...which were well worth the wait. If you go, plan to order your food together or better yet, write the number down of the dishes you would like to have. This is our first night in Battambang and most likely, we will attempt to eat there again. The food was delicious and the experience - a story for our travels.

We had dinner at Masala House last night, it our first time in about 6 months and we were not disappointed. The quality, taste and freshness have remained. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an excellent Indian meal in Battambang.

Finding a nice clean family style restaurant was hard a few years ago. But now recent investments have brought high quality family restaurants in this sleepy city. The restaurant is situated along the River. Ample parking for cars and moto. The restaurant has the open air inviting feeling. Food quality is good. Clean and good for family and couples.

We have been to this resturant (within the Khemera 1 hotel) many times over the past year and it has never failed to disappoint.A comprehensive menu of Khmer, Thai, Chinese and western food is offered throughout the day. If you plan to eat Asian, its best to go in bigger groups as their portions are huge.One of the best pizzas in Battambang is available here too.
