Simply Sweet is a specialty bakery focusing on homemade cupcakes from scratch, just like Grandma used to make. All cupcakes are made fresh daily and we also offer cupcake sized cheesecakes. We sell hand scooped ice cream also

Great service, they are very fast a checkouts, you can find great snacks and food, there is also a lot of merchandise that is a little price but great quality. The gas is very cheap and the bathrooms are spotless. This is by far the best gas station

Friendly service and helpful in trying to help me figure out what sort of drink I would like as I'm not from the US. Have been several times. It's nice a cool inside, short wait times (drive thru seems to take longer), they have free wi fi. Happy with my pumpkin latte!

Paw-Paw's has something for everyone. Their specialty, delicious Fried Catfish is straight from Paw-Paw's recipe from the 1950's. It's 100% American farm raised and always Gluten Free. In fact, most of the food is created using the same recipes the owners enjoyed as kids. They also serve Fried Jumbo Shrimp, 1/2 lb Burgers, Huge Chicken Tenders and great Salads. Locals and out-of-towners alike are flocking to Downtown Bastrop to visit - Paw-Paw's Catfish House. The service is outstanding and the food even better! It's old school cooking at its best. Have you ever eaten a Deep Fried Deviled Egg? Well, once you go to Paw-Paw's, you will brag about them to your friends! Paw-Paw's serves cold beer, wine and margaritas as well. Be sure and save room for the Chocolate Chip Brownie Sundae or the Banana Pudding. They have great weekday lunch specials and are open Tuesday- Sunday. Catfish & Cold Beer, Now that's American! We'll "See ya at the House."
This is a great, casual, local eatery. Informal and all about catfish. Companion had blackened catfish and raved about it. Tasty and zesty rub perfectly cooked fish. Rice and beans sides. I had salad with catfish on top. Delicious. Added Texas beers hit the spot. Fun place to go. Lots of cross table chatter.

Roadhouse Bastrop has been voted the "Best Burger in Bastrop" for 10 years in a row. Serving up honest food and good old-fashioned service since 2004!
All of the reviews mention the great hamburgers so we were wrong to go to this restaurant when we wanted chicken. After we were seated in this tiny facility of only about 15 tables (with a few outside), we noticed everyone was eating a burger. That was our biggest clue that we were in the wrong place. However, we thought if they make a great burger, they most likely make a good chicken dinner ... right? WRONG!. For $12 I got about a cup of lettuce and a 4oz grilled chicken breast that was tasteless. So if you plan to visit the Roadhouse, only order the burgers.

Texas Monthly rates Maxine's one of The 40 Best Small-Town Cafes in Texas and one of the 40 Best Breakfast Places in Texas!
We loved our lunch stop here on the way to Austin. Cute little place that had a shirt 10 minute wait for our table. My husband was torn between the whole or half CFS. Boy, were we glad when the waitress talked him into the 1/2 plate. The whole chicken fried steak was the size of a dinner plate! Kids had a burger on ciabatta bread and I had half chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sweet tea was the sweetest I’ve had in a long time. Wish we had enough room for pie...next time for sure!!

We tried Nieghbor's based on the reviews on TA and were certainly glad that we did. First, Google Maps took us to the wrong location so we had to use another mapping application to find the restaurant which is located downtown on a side street. The restaurant is "rustic" which adds to the charm and gives an Old West feel to the place. That said, the service was great, the pizzas were excellent and the team inside the restaurant were very accommodating and welcoming. Definitely worth going back again.

This small restaurant on highway 95 has excellent food and the quality is consistent. Ask for the pickled veggies with the queso. The salsa is superb. Highlights: Mexican street tacos, enchiladas verdes, shrimp a la parrillada. Large menu with lots of choices.
