Newly renovated, renowned for its comfort, clean rooms and affordable prices, the Motel Colonial is without doubt the ultimate accommodation in Rimouski.
Didn't realize that there was a Super 8 around the corner. Stayed at Colonial because of a funeral in Blenheim. In my son and daughter's room, the AC didn't work and the toilet didn't flush. The owner gave me a hard time when I brought this to his attention. He became aggressive and hostile with me after he shouted at the women working for him and tried to blame them. He is one peach of a human being. There are many hotels on this strip.

The staff are super friendly and provide great customer service. The motel is a little old and tired. It is generally clean but some mouldy caulking in the shower stall. It advertises a river view and while that is true, it is a little misleading. Your view consists of a postage stamp size of the the St.Lawrence river. Your "river view" is the backyards of the neighbouring homes and farms so opening the windows gives you a generous manure breeze. It is the first place along our Gaspésie trip where they made our beds and took out the garbage which was very nice.

The Cap Martin is a warm and hospitable “Auberge” situated in the picturesque town of La Pocatiere. Located in the Kamouraska region of the lower Saint-Lawrence, this area is well renowned for its majestic sunsets. Situated mid-way between Ontario and the Maritimes, the Cap Martin is easily accessed right off of highway 20 where our large parking lot welcomes vacationers and winter sport motorists. Our respect and love for our profession stems from an established presence in the hotel industry since1979. Our attentive personnel and impeccable service complement the warm and friendly atmosphere ensuring all travelers will enjoy a restful stay. Our 52 rooms were designed and decorated to accommodate business professionals, vacationers and family travelers alike. We offer competitively priced rooms that will suit all tastes. Our table d’hote menu and home-made daily specials feature a variety of regionally inspired flavors. New travelers and local customers enjoy our varying assortment of fresh seafood and savory meats. We are also pleased to offer a plentiful breakfast that we serve all day long. Delicious food and excellent service is always a top priority at the Cap Martin.
We simply stopped-in to La Pocatiere on our way to Eastern Canada, thus it was in-sleep-out in about a 12 hour time period. Bed was comfortable, room was super clean/amenities more-than sufficient and all the staff we encountered were super-friendly and warm, even if my French isn't stellar at all (ie: they spoke English). Only a 30-second drive off the Trans-Canada as well, so great location! Didn't partake in breakfast.

Beautiful spot with an exceptional view on the river. Most beautiful sunsets in the world. Excellent service. Many excellent restaurants nearby (walking distance). Near downtown.
Absolutely disgusting customer service. My family and I booked a road trip from Ontario to New Brunswick and booked this motel for our half way point. He already took the payment off our credit card. We show up after 15 hours of driving only to find out the owner sold our room to someone else, even after taking our booking and payment. We tried calling the emergencies after hours line to have this sorted out and the owner was no help. He said we were lying, that we had no booking and that his motel was full. We have proof of the time and day we called and made the reservation AND he already charged our credit card $177 for the room. We are now stranded 15 hours from home at 12:30 at night with nowhere to go or sleep. Every motel and hotel is sold out from here to New Brunswick. This place is an absolute disgrace. We will be sure to spread the word about this incident. The owner very clearly sold the room to another person and is lying to cover up his mistake. He also claims he never charged our credit card despite our proof which we offered to show him. My family does this road trip annually and we will be sure to never do business here again.

We stayed two different nights on our trip to and from the Gaspe and had a wonderful experience . The owner is so friendly and helpful, also suggesting places to eat and things to see on our way. The rooms were spotless with all the amenities you might need. We felt like family and would recommend it to all.

Our room was very dated and had a musty smell. I do a fair amount of travelling and can't remember the last time I stayed in such an outdated motel. Beds were not very comfortable. Best part about staying here is Mike's restaurant next store.

First the positives. The bed linen was clean, the bathroom was clean, the water was runnung, the electricity worked, it is pet-friendly, it had wifi. Now the low-down. This is a run-down ‘60s like motel. If you arrive so tired that you don’t notice anything, just crash, when you wake up in the morning, it’s too late to worry about anything. If not: electricity is distributed via octopuses, the air conditioning unit hangs in the window and the gaps are filled with plastc, paper and silicone, and it does not work (only the fan works). The old curtains are partially held off the fan with a women’s plastic hairclip. The toilet is so small it must be a midget design, it fails to flush properly. The soap dispenser at the bathtub wad empty. The small spider, between the shower head and wall, looked securely established. Various notices pasted around the room, main concern: $50 fine for smoking in the room. The door is ramshackle, despite the thin chain it could be pushed down with little force. The decor is ancient and tasteless, holes in the carpeting, small table and desk ill-fitting, simply plunkt there. One small coffemaker with one packet of coffee, of a quality that should not be offered to anyone. And, the place seems to run by absentee management. My advice: keep driving to Riviere du Loup or Edmundston.

The Mini Farm was a unique touch to the campground! Decent amenities that are well maintained. We were surprised we were given a single key for the washrooms and that the showers had a fee. Overall it was a standard campground.

My room was smallish and old however it was spotless. Incredibly well cleaned. Upon arrival I noticed the smell of humidity but the motel is right by the river and not air conditioned so it's normal I suppose with the window opened. Nice view of the river from the window. As small as it is, the room is equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave oven. The lady at counter for check-in was super nice. The motel is right off the 132 so you have a quiet sleep without traffic noises. A short walk up the street there is a good family restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's close to downtown Rimouski, a mall and near a nice river view walk. All can be reached by foot. There is also a park a short walk away on the same street where children can play. Good for traveling families if they get the bigger room. There are chairs and picnic tables behind the hotel to relax while looking at the sunset on the river. Some rooms have a patio door, mine did not. A perfect spot to stop when on a road trip going to and from the Gaspésie for a night.
