Mansions and majestic hotels serve as reminders of Bar Harbor’s past (in the 19th century, it was a favorite vacation spot of society’s upper crust). Today, visitors kayak, explore Acadia National Park, go bird- or whale-watching, and enjoy salty sea air and sandy beaches.

The Atlantic Eyrie Lodge sits high atop a bluff overlooking the waters of Frenchman Bay.
Our trip here was amazing! The location was perfect 1 mile from downtown and the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The hot breakfast was great before hiking trails. We will be back on our next hiking trip to Acadia! Thank you for such a great stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay here! The property is beautifully maintained with a playground and cute lake, and our kids enjoyed the paddle boat and watching the mama and baby ducks. The cabins were stocked with everything we needed, and we enjoyed the fresh air on the screened porch. The property is convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor (~10-15 min drive down the road) and the mainland. The only downside was a bit of noise from the road. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

This was the first trip I have taken by myself in 40+ years. The location was ideal--walk to restaurants, shops and wharf. Short drive to Arcadia National Park. Staff are warm and exceptionally helpful. Comfortable and tastefully decorated room. Very nice linens, breakfast was hot and tasty.

The cottages are clean and in a great location 5-10mins from Bar Harbor and Acadia…but, our cottage, basically sat right on HWY 3. It was so loud all night long. Unfortunately, I would not stay in this cabin again, maybe the others are quieter. Also, even though days before our stay- I made several attempts via phone and email to confirm our checkin time, there was no response until the day of checkin. On the website it says until 8:30pm, but the day we checked in, the office closed @ 7:00pm. It was disconcerting to not know if we’d be able to checkin…

Edenbrook Motel is a family run business since we opened in 1953. Our modest rooms in the 1st and 3rd are updated and accommodating families, and with a covered porch. The 2nd and 4th rooms are modern and very up-to-date with balconies and top floor of the 4th has views of Frenchman's Bay. This is reflected in the prices. We welcome reviews from all our guests.
Stayed here for 1 night, first time. Pleasantly surprised! Clean and large room, comfortable beds, big bathroom. There is an additional sink outside of the bathroom - nice! We were in the 2nd building behind the main office. Motel is in a good location close to downtown Bar Harbor. Would stay here again.

Acadia Pines Motel is family owned and operated. We pride ourselves on providing clean, comfortable accommodations in a relaxed setting. With only 22 rooms, we are able to spend time and share our love of the island with our guests. Our family and staff strive to provide you with the most memorable vacation in one of the nations premier national parks. It is gratifying when a guest returns after exploring the island and can't wait to share the highlights of their day or with a thank you for guiding them to one of our favorite spots and a request for a recommendation for the next day or a locals choice of a restaurant for dinner. Our staff is always available to answer questions and the wall of fun in the office is filled with brochures detailing activities from a relaxing walking tour of the historic downtown area to rock climbing and glider rides. Be sure to stop by the office and ask about the special places we are waiting to share with you.
We made a reservation to stay for two nights starting Oct. 16 2021. Just two hours after we finalized the reservation, my Covid test came out positive. We contacted the motel, kindly asking for a refund. Not only they refused, they were completely silent to my inquiries after that. I wrote them at least three emails. No response. They must be glad they made a little bit of easy money out of an unforseen health problem.

Island Place, formerly known as Primrose Place has 10 newly renovated downtown Bar Harbor rooms. Choose rooms with 1 Queen Size Bed or rooms with 1 King Size Bed. All rooms are Non-Smoking and include small refrigerator, free wifi, TV, black out shades, air conditioning, and full bath. Coffee, Tea, Computer with printer, Water Bottle Filling station and Microwave available in Lobby. Island Place is located in the historic district of Bar Harbor, walking distance from downtown.
We stayed at Island Place in Bar Harbor for three nights and I would highly recommend it. It was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed. Since it is such a small motel, with only about 11 rooms, everything was so convenient. We could park right in front of our room so the many trips back to our car were quick and easy. They have a small table and 2 chairs outside every room where we drank wine and reflected on our day each night. We had 24 hour access to the main office which was only a few doors down and it had coffee, a hot water station for tea and hot chocolate, and a water bottle station with ice so we could fill our water bottles as needed. Also, the people were very friendly and helpful. The location was an easy walk to downtown and there was a grocery store about two blocks away as well. The room is nothing fancy, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The flowers and landscaping around the hotel was well done. Compared to the cost of other places close to downtown Bar Harbor, Island Place is a great deal and we would definitely stay there again.

Family of four plus our dog stayed in cottage #8. It was great-- clean, nicely decorated, and met our needs. The decor is updated from the pictures online. Our unit had a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa, and a small kitchen with all of the basics. I would recommend this place.

Robbins Motel is an affordable lodging choice in Bar Harbor. We are conveniently located just 4 miles north of downtown Bar Harbor, Maine and just 2 miles from the Main Entrance to Acadia National Park. All of our rooms are non-smoking, and we have free wireless internet and cable in all rooms.
My husband and I have quite a long history with this motel. The first time we stayed here was as newlyweds in the mid 1970s when the rate was $4 per person and we could just about afford it. We stayed for many years through the owner's son taking over. About that time we felt Acadia was becoming too well loved and was overcrowded so we started going to Newfoundland for about 25 years. Due to the pandemic we decided to vacation closer to home again so we went back to Acadia and stayed at Robbins again. It felt like coming home. It looked the same so some might say it is dated but it still has everything you need and at a good rate which again is important to us as seniors. The layout of the room is nice with built in tables at both ends and a chair for each. One table has the flat screen TV while the other is empty for your PC or to have a meal on. The bathroom is adequate with good hot water and enough towels. The location is good--close to Bar Harbor and Acadia and close enough to Ellsworth in the other direction. We stayed for four nights and were happy that the rate was reasonable. The staff was helpful and friendly even when we had to wake them up at 3 AM because we couldn't get into our room. We were overall happy with our stay and looking forward to coming back. Parking is right in front of your room so no need to carry your bags far.
