As this was my last night in Thailand my friends decided that this was the place to go.
The restaurant itself is huge. You can either sit under cover or sit on the beach. The beach was really the only option.
The menu at the restaurant is huge so take your time and choose wisely.
We chose an array of chicken, pork and squid dishes as well as some 'vegetables'.
I can't get enough of the 'morning glory' or the papaya salad - I will definitely miss these when I return to UK.
The food was delicious. It seems as though wherever I eat in Thailand, be it a street stall or restaurant I will never tire of the food, and it's sooo cheap to eat. For the 3 of us it came to roughly GBP 30, including drinks and tip.
Overall an excellent restaurant and brilliant location.

I order mango strawberry tea with ice (60thb, Twining) and Charcoal honey toast with fruit (255thb)
The Honey toast came with 2 scoop of ice cream and variety fresh fruit (banana, strawberry, kiwi, dragon fruit, and grape). The toast is crispy on the top, the texture is great. It's also served with strawberry syrup & honey on the side.
The portion is very big probably should be good enough for 2-3pp sharing.
The staffs are nice.
For the coffee, I suggest the 'cozy factory' nearby, they have very good aroma coffee since it' fresh roasted.

If you want "real" Thai cooking you should not miss Jee Waan's restaurant in Ban Chang, Rayong Province. Some 35kms southeast of Pattaya (about 200kms SE of Bangkok) this relatively new, tiny, street front restaurant is simply the best Thai food we've had. And we admit that after living here for 20 years it snuck up on us... we discovered it on TripAdvisor.com !
Last night (Thursday August 14, 2014) our Thai/American family arrived early to grab a table for six at 6pm. We were greeted immediately by Waan and started ordering what we wanted, before seeing the menu. Older Sister Sweet, as the literal translation of her combination Chinese (Jee is older sister in Cantonese) and Waan is "sweet" in Thai, has a full menu of Thai and Isaarn dishes (northeastern Thailand, up near our ancestral home town of Udon Thani). We had salted white fish, catfish cakes, larb, garlic pork, steak tips, mian kam and a variety of Thai sauces and vegetables all served quickly and deliciously.
The staff is attentive, the cooks are quick and the food is simply the best traditional Thai food that we've ever had.
For those of you who aren't familiar with real Thai restaurants you should know in advance that this is a small and very rustic restaurant... you don't go for the décor you go for the food!
There are only 10 tables, each Seating six or so... the dishes are plastic and the street noise from the Sukhumvit are steady... they are located on the main street of Ban Chang just west of the Tesco/Lotus. The menus are in Thai and English, at least a very humorous attempt at English.
Don't let any of this deter you from meeting Waan and enjoying the best Thai meal you'll ever have! By the way, the family insists on going back again tonight... please don't take our table :)

Basic rooms but fit for purpose. Excellent pub food for a change from Thai food. Standout pizzas andShepherd's Pie with cheese topping.. So good it was breakfast item. Friendly service and genial host Terry.Would definitely eat here when in Ban Chang.

A beautiful place on the beach front. We had passed it a few times when we were looking for our hotel the evening before. We decided to go have our lunch here
We came back the day after and we were delirious with anticipation. We had been up since 6 in the morning for the monk ordination, not been eating saving us for this place.
At a location like this it must be a first class establishment with matching food. We got the menu, instant disappointment, it was a hamburger bar with the worst hamburger I have ever had and I have had some bad hamburgers in my days. I did not even finish the food and we left this beautiful place. How can it be allowed to have a place like this and serve something, yes, I’m pretty sure the food was made in a microwave.

This restaurant is famous with the locals and the expatriates. The scenery and location is excellent. The food is awesome and very cheap. Bring your own wine or liquor if you don't like the beers. Best time to be there is about sunset.
