Making our first visit to Scotland, Loch Lomond and was looking to stay somewhere just for 1 x night. We looked online at is was getting late and we came across Queen of the Loch. They had one room left, only £75. We had food in the restaurant which was great and booked for the breakfast, again this was also great food. The Inn and the accommodation was very clean, staff were very helpful. A great find. You can walk to Loch Shores which have Sea Life visiting Centre, shops and great views of the Loch from the beach area. 5 mins walk from the Inn. Highly recomnend this place!!!

We booked this hotel for one night by looking at photos of the nice dining room and the fact it was refurbished There was a fan unit on the roof outside our window which made a noise like a 747 the whole night The toilet also kept filling itself up,so you constantly heard water dripping The walls were so thin you could hear people in other rooms and when they flushed their toilet or turned on the water Very poor room loads of cobwebs on ceiling The bathroom was quite new but the bath was very high and you had to climb in for a shower Despite having a shower mat bath was very slippy and there was no handrail Tv didn’t work, there was two remotes and a guide how to work it in the guest information if it didn’t work..which it didn’t you were to phone reception We liked the look of the dining room so booked dinner and had already chosen what to eat from the menu We asked for the seafood pie..I had been looking forward to it all day The waiter came back, sorry no seafood pie, then told us no seafood platter or hake A problem which their supplier We then asked for two chicken duos He came back, sorry we don’t have this We decided to eat elsewhere Came back to the hotel bar Two bacardis and coke Sorry no Bacardi Problem with our supplier What can I say The bed was very comfortable, just as well as we were awake most of the night Breakfast was nice

Didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised. Warm welcome and easy check-in. Was fortunate to get a parking space right outside the door but parking is available across the road if necessary. Room was big and very clean. After a long drive the quietness was appreciated. Had booked dinner elsewhere and didn't want breakfast so can't review those but if you're looking for a clean, warm and welcoming place to sleep this place is for you. No hesitation in recommending and will happily stay again in the future.

Lovely rooms with everything you could need and a perfect breakfast in the morning. Very friendly hosts made the stay extra special. You can tell the owners have been doing this for a long time and clearly love what they do. Thank you!

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you here at Woodvale. Whether you look for a quiet or active break, it can be found and enjoyed here on the shores of Loch Lomond and just a short walk away from Woodvale.
We stayed here for one night. On the back of that we stayed one more night. Kevin and Elaine are brilliant hosts. The cleanliness and finish of the rooms are excellent. The breakfast was as good as I received in a 5 Star hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. They advised us on what to see locally and advised on further places to see and stay on our way to Peterhead and Fraserburgh. A delightful place. I would have no problem recommending it to anyone and will be staying there again.

Sitting at the foot of Loch Lomond in the beautiful village of Balloch, this historic lodge is the perfect place to stay if you're looking to explore the rugged mountains and ancient history of Balloch Castle Country Park.Built in the 18th century, Balloch House has been a hotel for more than a hundred years. Today it exudes the same rustic charm, while providing budget accommodation across 12 comfy rooms. There's a hearty seasonal menu alongside daily specials, cask-conditioned ales and carefully selected wines. As for the sightseeing, you'll be spoilt for choice. Catch the early morning mists that curl across the Loch, take the historic Maid of the Loch steamer from Balloch Pier or venture out and discover the beautiful Scottish scenery of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. You could also visit nearby Alexandria or head into the hustle and bustle of Glasgow. In fact, there's so much to do that you might need more than a weekend to soak it all up.
A fantastic location. Staff were brilliant in their hospitality and service. Food was very good. The menu is not extensive. My room did require a little maintenance, ie walls needed a bit of touch j up, The WC flush handle definitely needed fixing. However wiuld stay again without hesitation.

Popped in on Saturday 14th May after a long cycle . When I asked for two pints I was told to sit inside , I cancelled the pints as I wanted to sit outside, the waiter said if I sat outside then everyone who was in at the time would also sit outside, I did not get that one surely when entering an establishment, the customer has the right to choose, where to sit there are 2 beer gardens and the weather was sunny , so me and my mate just left and went elsewhere. Don't worry we won't be back it's your loss we ended up at the Queen of the Loch and spent about £ 100 between us on food etc then walked back to the train station, I think you are needing to review your policy on keeping your customers happy , I could not belive this , last time I looked I thought that we still lived in a free country .

The worse hotel experience ever. If you want somewhere decent then my advise is to pay a little more and stay somewhere else. My partner and I booked a room for 2 days.It was our first time in Balloch. We paid for an ensuite and decided not to book the room with the shared bathroom. Upon check in, they gave us a room where the shower was mouldy, toilet had gross limescale, toilet door wouldn't shut and the hot water was not running down but to the right of the tap. We complained and were given another room. The shower had mould but not as much. The towel in the bathroom was dirty. Looks like the previous guest cleaned their make up/ foundation on it. This room was still OK compared to the other. They told us the boiler isn't working but they've called someone to fix it. The second day the boiler was still not working nor was it working by the time we left. They told us we are welcome to use the shared bathroom which had electric shower. I didn't pay extra money for an ensuite to then use a shared bathroom so as you can imagine I was pretty annoyed. On the third day we checked out. At night the other guests were really rude and talking loudly in the hall (not really the hotel's fault but that's the type of customer that this hotel typically attracts). In the hotel club, they played loud music on Friday which we could hear from our room making sleep almost impossible. The reception area is always empty but that's their tactic. If there is no one who you are going to complain to, right? My partner and I left on the second night because we couldn't sleep because of the loud music and noise. We checked out early and drove home at 12.am even though we had paid to stay over that night. So I basically paid £160 for one night for bythe most horrible hotel. I don't get why they are even classed as a hotel . I will definitely come back to Balloch but not this hotel EVER again.

Booked a stay here for the jubilee weekend. Paid more per night than the 4 star hotel we stayed in on the way up there. We were appalled when we arrived. Wedged between building work and a communal laundry room, facing another 'cottage' that looked like a 1970s community centre, our 'cottage' fitted right in as the furnishings, including lino on the bathroom floor, were pure 1970s. The equipment was basic. The sofa was faded and had a dubious stain on it. The patio was tiny, not attractive or private. We couldnt stay. Attempts to get a refund were roundly rebuffed and I was blocked. Ive taken it up with booking.com. i was looking for the owners' details to speak to trading standards yesterday when I noticed that on some sites, they are saying 'auchendennan self-catering cottages, known prior to May 2022 as auchendennan luxury self catering cottages.' This site still states 'luxury'. I booked and was charged for something marketed as luxury to find none of the luxe when we arrived on june 1st. That tells me something! Why would a firm drop that word unless they had complaints or were forced to do so? Regardless, we should have been told of the change. My call is in to Trading Standards, perhaps it isnt the first time. Please be cautious.
