With its wood and concrete interior, and light shades made partly from recycled plastic bottles(!), this is a café worth a side-street detour. If you are gluten-free, then great. So is most of the baking on offer, as are the pancakes. I opted for a gluten-free almond and apricot muffin which was excellent, as was the peppermint tea I had with it. My companion opted for a coffee made with almond milk and turmeric and a gluten-free chocolate muffin - both excellent. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, morning coffee or afternoon tea. Another Sóller gem!

We went to El Castillo on opening night. Really enjoyed the ambiance. It is a tastefully setup restaurant, with great care for detail. Also the food and staff all wonderful. We really enjoyed it. Also the fact they try and do everything to limit the environmental impact is worth mentioning. This bar on the seafront has no air conditioning and we were glad to get out. While the cocktails were faultless the heat was impressive - and the service slow. As a result I also ordered water which didnât come. Had to go to the bar where it was sitting on a trayYou were sat on the front terrace, which is not even owned by us, but by the council. No-one has air conditioning on a terrace. If you were sat on our terrace slightly back you would have had one of our fans cooling you, but maybe that would not have been enough. Sorry that our service was not quick enough, and yes I had opened your water and was ready to serve you but had other people who had already had ordered before you or had asked for their bills.Hot and clammy? 10th August 2019 in Mallorca, anyone who cares can look up and see what this day was like. If the weather does not suit you, maybe come at a different time of year?
