They have two locations, one in the Sanchez Taboada Boulevard and the other in the Plaza Domino in Salinas boulevard. We go most of the times to the Plaza Domino location. The decor in this one is really amazing. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is excellent. You might want to ask for Samuel to serve you, he is really good. One of the highlights is the Kaizen Ramen soup, with Shrimp, octopus, salmon and of course Ramen. The cold sake is a must if you like to drink it.

Maybe I'm too picky about Chinese restaurants or I'm used to other less fancy Chinese places, and although in this restaurant the food is good, tasty and well served, it is honestly too expensive for traditional Cantonese-Chinese dishes. The specialties are even more expensive and still nothing superlative, just good. The service is quite good and the restaurant itself is nice, clean, modern-looking, almost elegant (a little dark for my taste). Worth a try, nonetheless.

The culinary explosion taking place in Tijuana continues to amaze and delight. Katai is a small, cozy eatery where authentic Thai dishes are prepared with skill, love and dedication. The young Mexican chefs have learned their trade in Thailand and have brought their knowledge to Tijuana. For those unfamiliar with Thai food this is a perfect place to start getting to know and enjoy it. For those who are already fans of this delicious cuisine, this is a very welcome addition to Tijuana's culinary scene. Katai is located in Colonia Morelos which is not one of the city's known food centers but it's well worth the trip. Although not on any of the main drags, it's very near downtown and easily reachable. Just aim for the giant flag over the military base and you won't miss it. The menu is small but this guarantees good quality. Ingredients are fresh and dishes are prepared to order. My favorites so far are the fish pataya, which is a fillet of fish in a spicy tamarind/ginger/Thai chili sauce that's finger-licking good, and the spicy fried rice. Katai closes on Wednesdays. Plenty of near-by street parking available in a mostly residential neighborhood.
