Baden-Wurttemberg’s second-largest city after Stuttgart, Mannheim lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is rare among German cities for its layout, a grid pattern (or “quadrates”) similar to those found in North America. The grid was originally plotted in 1606 and emanated from Friedrichsburg fortress, which later became the site of Mannheim Palace. Today, it partly houses the University of Mannheim. The city’s iconic water tower and its beautiful Luisenpark are must-sees.

Located opposite Mannheim station itâs the ideal stop off for food and drink post race at the German GPIt just opposite the station and attracts many race goes so just extends the fun of the day. Prices are ok food ok, staff as expected in most European Irish pubs pretty miserable and like they are doing you a favour, however the external table service girls are great as they seem to be local girlsI went there everyday if my trip and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and made some great friends along the way

Had one of their burgers while drinking at the Taproom across the road. The burger was very good - served medium - and their homemade whisky, honey and bacon topping is very tasty. The chips were a little on the greasy side but came with a very nice homemade chipotle mayo. Prices were reasonable for a proper burger. Would definitely eat there again.

My husband and I decided to try this place during our anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised. He's from Spain and he has been disappointed many times by Spanish restaurants in Germany, which is why we stopped trying them, but we heard great things about Bokeria and it really is an exception! It is not traditional spanish food (and they don't pretend to be), which is why it's great! From the dishes we had, I would say it's more like a spanish+italian fusion. He had the whole dorada fish with the tuscan salad, which reminded him of the traditional picadillo he eats back home. I had the pork fillet with mushroom risotto and it was amazing! We also shared the fried calamari and burschetta and they were very tasty. The service and atmosphere were great as well!

Visited with a colleague. I had the ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and very tasty. I had the potatoes with bacon and onion on the side which went well with the steak. We didn't have starters of desserts but enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.

Location is somewhat surprising - restaurant is located in the basement floor of the shopping mall. In its food court area. So don't expect any fancy surroundings or particularly unique scenary... But the five course menu was good - a bit uninspirational and non-surprising, but ok. Wines were excellent with some true surprises from local producers. Price level was normal for this type of a restaurant (fairly high...)

The bar is a meeting place for like-minded people, a meeting place, where time is slow. The terrace on the water in summer becomes a very special sun deck where you can rediscover the Rhine and the harbor water.
We stayed overnight in the very stylish Speicher 7 harbor hotel and had our dinner aperitif in their well-equipped bar with modern interior design. My classic Gimlet cocktail was mixed with Tanqueray N° Ten Gin and lime juice and served in a chilled glass. Negroni is made with Whitley Neill London Dry Gin, Campari and red Belsazar Vermouth. The tangy Duckstein wheat beer is a bracing thirst quencher. What a perfect start for a dinner.

We found this place completely by chance. You could easily miss it but just look for the doors covered in stickers! Once inside you'll soon realise it's a local bar which seems to be popular with students. Don't let that put you off. We shared a table with a local couple who we enjoyed a chat with as we ate our meal. The food is Ok, large portions and cheap. We also enjoyed listen to the Beatles being played in the background. All in all, a great place of you want to experience local life.
