Excellent and traditional kitchen with modern elements (patisserie, molecular kitchen), but just right so quality and taste do not suffer. Not cheap, but excellent products and traditional cooking with a modern twist justify it. Nice ambiente on the terrace - quality everywhere, from the furniture over the table cloths to the gardening. The best non-Michelin-stared Restaurant I have eaten at for a long time.

We had a wonderful evening at 3Lis. A very good kitchen, worth a Michelin star. You feel very welcome, very friendly service hitting the right tone. Clear and modern ambience and plate decoration. Prices at upper limit, but that's in line with others in the surrounding. Definitely worth to go.

In fact, the historic inn comes from the outside down to earth and inside it is rustic: The lovable device with beautiful old wooden floor, revolving wooden bench and tiled stove spreads immediately pure coziness. The cordial operator Kirsten and Steffen
The cozy, casual atmosphere and the unfussy food presentation belie the creative and finely nuanced cuisine. The recipes are anchored in local traditions while offering both variety and refinement. This restaurant is deservedly popular; service was friendly and suitably paced despite the large number of customers. They also offer some Asian dishes which I didn't try.

We drove up to the Nonnenmattweiher in the Black Forest, a small lake at just over 900 metres altitude, walked around the lake and then enjoyed a good lunch at the Fischerhütte nearby. My wife chose a schnitzel and I had two bratwurste, both served with potato salad and a green salad. Both were very good value for money.

Having had one or two disappointing experiences with Michelin-starred restaurants, we went to this one with an open mind. We needn't have worried though as it was delicious from start to finish. The restaurant is part of a 'gasthof' which is situated in a small village. They do have a pretty little garden but, unfortunately, the weather was wet and cool when we went.We opted for their set menu and asked for wine recommendations which we enjoyed and which complimented the food well. It is quite a small restaurant, and the atmosphere was very convivial. Attractive paintings, lots of light-coloured wood and white linen make the restaurant light and airy. Service was efficient and cheerful. As can be expected at a Michelin-star restaurant, this was not a cheap meal, but worth every penny. A lot of hard work and imagination had gone into the preparation of the delightfully fresh ingredients. The food was beautifully presented with lots of colour, texture and flavour, and we made the most of our three-hour dining experience taking in and enjoying everything going on around us. We would definitely go back, perhaps next time for a lovely sunny lunch in their garden.

My wife and, accompanied by two dogs, ate in the Douce restaurant of the Hirshen hotel. The restaurant is bi-cultural (French/German) and offers an outstandingly light cuisine based on super fresh, quality products. Service is warmly welcoming and very friendly and the wine list features a broad selection of local and other (mostly French) wines. One minor criticism: we felt that the individual dishes of our 5 course menu could have had more differentiated tastes. Alternatively, it could have been that, used to more highly spiced food, we missed the some of the subtlety of the tastes on offer. In any event, we give the owner, the chefs and the excellent service presonnel the benefit of the doubt! Viator Coloniae.
