Reviews on Bar food in Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. The city of Freiburg im Breisgau sits austerely on the edge of the Black Forest. Home to one of Germany’s oldest universities and a Gothic sandstone cathedral, it’s a hub for academics and medieval history buffs. Chug German suds at a local brewery, then hop a cable car up Schauinsland mountain, where astounding views and a solar observatory await.

Enjoyed some delicious schnitzel here on Easter Monday night when lots of other places were closed. The service was friendly and quick. Our German is non-existent and their new English menu wasnât coming until next week. The chap was very helpful and his recommendation (Schwarzwald sauce schnitzel) was delicious. The outdoor courtyard setting was nice on red/white tablecloths and the beers were nice. Chips were served on the side of the schnitzel... I guess that proves to Australia how it should be done.

On arrival in Freiburg, this was clearly the place to come. For the first couple of days, day or night, it was absolutely packed. There are lots of young people come here, but the noise is pretty restrained. Its proximity to the university means that prices are cheap. Drinks are a bit cheaper than surrounding places, and so is food. When we finally found a table, the flammkuchen was superb. I had the sheep's cheese on with rocket. Lovely. Service was efficient and speedy. I loved sitting here. One thing I found about sitting outside German restaurants and bars was that smoking is allowed, and I am a bit sensitive to that on occasion. Those are the rules and it is my problem, but you might end up with smokers on the next table sharing their smells with you.

This place has a good location by the Martin's Gate. The service wasn't that great. We (group of 4) ordered beers and 3 of us got what they ordered. I didn't. The waitress said that the beer she brought me was better than the one I ordered... what? Limited beer selection and inattentive service.

Very nice big outdoor biergarten. Friendly staff that speaks english and explains the different things on the very small menu. I tried pretzel, white sausages and bier from the brewery. All very nice, the beer was excellent :)

O'Kellys Irish Pub is a typical Irish pub outside of Ireland. Really busy and suited for tourists. They serve your typical Irish pub beers (Guinness, Kilkenny...) but also some local craft beers from Braukollektiv. Sports on the screens.

WELCOME A historical Inn with modern concept. Here you will find: regional creative kitchen coasy rooms
We had booked a table for three. Menus were only in German but we had the chance to have a charming waitress speaking a perfect French to help us go through the menu and pick typical meals. With this tapas menu, you have the possibility to discover many of the good local specialties. We enjoyed them all. Try it, itâs worth it.Hello LeMorse, thank you very much for the kind review. You make us happy!Regards from the team
