Kreuz restaurant, located on the B3, doesn't have the most romantic location, but it is convenient. Müllheim has several excellent restaurants, which is surprising, considering the size of the town. This is my favourite one. It consistently offers very good food at honest prices served by friendly and efficient staff. I am vegetarian and I am particularly happy to note that this restaurant offers a good range of vegetarian and fish dishes that are interesting and delicious - not just an afterthought as seems to be the case at most German restaurants where the chef's usually draw a blank when it comes to meat-free cuisine. The only niggle I have about this place is the atmosphere. The lighting is awful and creates a somewhat cold and gloomy atmosphere. But I forgive them this cosmetic flaw because the food and services are so enjoyable. During the warmer seasons there is seating outside in a walled beer garden, which in the evenings is a pleasant place to sit and traffic noise hardly disturbs the peace.Danke für Ihr Kompliment für Küche und Service es hat uns sehr gefreut. I hope we see us in summertime ,best greeting Kreuz Restaurant

So we have been at Esskultur after the desaster with the former owner. The atmosphere changed to become more modern and contemporary. This does not mean anything to the quality but might meet the average expectation. We ordered asparagus and salmon trout. Both was nicely prepared and well cooked. Staff was outstanding friendly and one of the owners served the meals so that we could have as well a small talk (we very much appreciated). We had finally an espresso which was served in non heated cups (small thing with big impact).Facit : let's give the new owners a chance to grow this restaurant to the level it was in the old days. This requires some hard blood and real owner- and leadership. The quality of the food is good, the price a bit to high too meet the experience level.Looking forward for a second time - it looks and feels promising...Thank you for your great rating! We are very pleased that you were so satisfied. Visit us again soon!Your EssKultur-Team

We are a family-run wine shop with fine spirits and delicacies .
Nice selection of easy drinking wines served by the glass or by the bottle. Good explanation given by the shop owner. Romantic wine bar and shop. Not cheap but excellent wines.

We did not stay here so can only comment on the food. We chose the set menu as we had no idea of the menu as our German is non existent and they do not do an English version. What we got was wholesome and very traditional which many others in the room were also enjoying. Not everyone's idea of gourmet food but excellent just the same

Potatoes, ham, bread, eggs, cheese. A lovely mélange of smells and tastes in this cozy family restaurant. Service was great despite the crowd. Wine selection is great (all local German).

This was or 3rd time here. The food never disappoints. I had deer venison with spatlzel and it was excellent. Their house salad bar is plentiful, their local beer excellent. Can;t say enough good things about it.

We have enjoyed the food very much. They were accommodating with the vegan options but no vegan desserts though. Service is slow. They can adjust the spice level for you but all of the dishes do contain chillies. In a good way :) We especially liked the vegan coconut soup and the kohlrabi carpaccio, the vegan mushroom raviolis somewhat less. Would come back.Hi Peter, thanks for leaving this comment. I'm very happy that you enjoyed the food. We try to make everything perfect, so we will check the point about the service. If I remember right the problem was that some people of your table ordered a 3-course-menu, some only starters, some only main courses. This wasn't easy to manage for us, but we will work on it. Next time, we are prepared! So we really hope that you will come back.

The menu showed wonderful choices but we went for the asparagues since it was the middle of June and the asparagues season was almost over. It was a very nice surprise that we still could order them, as I love them! They were delicious and the portions were huge. We also had amuses to start the meal and a very nice desert to finish. Wines were excellent too. The staff was very attentive and nice.

What can be better than going for dinner on a snowy white evening to a village inn/restaurant where the food is delicious and the decor soo very cosy??!! It was a wonderful experience....the snow outside and all the Christmas lights and Christmas trees, then the warm ambience inside. It has been in the hands of the same family for 250 years and has been a restaurant all this time. How can it not be cosy?? - Low ceilings, wooden beams, an old green enamelled furnace (don't actually know what it is called), a decorated Christmas tree, wooden seating all around and old household items used in the decor. And, above all that, we had a delicious meal. I chose the menu - soup, main course and dessert for 26E. All perfect.I cannot recommend the Ochsen enough. If you are ever in this area of Germany, I highly recommend you to visit.I understand it is also a guesthouse, but, we did not see the rooms so I cannot say anything, but, judging from the restaurant, it must be a very authentic and special experience to stay here.
