Today we had a wonderful experience at Ehinger Rose. The service, family and restaurant are impeccable. Everyone in our lunch party truly enjoyed everything. Friendly smiles and exceptional food with a visit by the Chef made our visit just perfect. I enjoyed a seasonal vegetarian special of lentils and vegetables. My friend's enjoyed the crab soup which is on their daily menu and it was delectable. I also tasted the spinach creme soup which was unforgettable.

We live in a town not far from the Berg Brewery, so have been there quite often in the past, and all before they renovated the restaurant. A few weeks ago, around 12 noon on a Saturday afternoon, we went here for lunch. My husband ordered the "Gänsecurry" (Goose Curry) which was on special for â¬15,80 and I ordered the "Rostbraten", well done. (Roast with onions). Well, what a shock when our food arrived. The "Gänsecurry" portion was so small that not even a mouse would get sated. There was also quite a lot of goose pieces missing because there were only 5 tiny pieces sitting on our plate. FIVE TINY PIECES! Two of these pieces were mostly sinews, and one was a big fatty skin. So all in all there were only TWO TINY PIECES of goose on our plate, covered in a yellow brew that was supposed to be a curry sauce, which unfortunately they forgot to put the curry in...We spoke to the waitress, and she was very defensive, claiming that it is a normal portion, for the price of â¬9,00 or so. Eh? So we showed her the actual price on their menu, then she got even more defensive, saying that as we should know, goose is quite expensive. Oh, okay, so this goose laid the golden egg then? They should be ashamed of themselves for daring to serve such meagre portions for such astronomical prices. The "Rostbraten" by the way was as dry as dust, and here too they forgot a slice or two. The waitress did not want to budge and we still had to pay the full price. She promised to inform the cook, ahem...
