Find out what European restaurants to try in Mannheim. Baden-Wurttemberg’s second-largest city after Stuttgart, Mannheim lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is rare among German cities for its layout, a grid pattern (or “quadrates”) similar to those found in North America. The grid was originally plotted in 1606 and emanated from Friedrichsburg fortress, which later became the site of Mannheim Palace. Today, it partly houses the University of Mannheim. The city’s iconic water tower and its beautiful Luisenpark are must-sees.

This is an absolute recommendation! We spent a most lovely and excellent dinner party at this restaurant. We were lucky with the weather and could eat outside in lovely surroundings. The service was impeccable. The menu was very nice, particularly the main dish (salmon or beef). Not a star awarded kitchen but very ! good. We'll come back ;-)

This much-hyped and - must-reserve Restaurant turned out to be a disappointment.Perhaps we arrived at an "inopportune" time (19h30), but we were left to wait 20 minutes before a very young and unsure waiter offered us water and Aperitif.Somewhere between large Pasta poster and numerous Brigitte Bardot and Romy Schneider photographs lies the menu. We had Tartare and Octopus Salad for starters, of which the former was pleasant, and the latter a rather difficult battle between acidity an excess oil. Even the wonderful Artichoke served 2 ways was pureed and .... deep fried.Craving freshness, we found the highlight in a refreshing "Pina Colada" sweet after dessert, which was desperately needed after the intense 4 courses.

A weekend trip to Mannheim had its momentous peak in the Keller's Weinrestaurant.Liver dumpling soup, deer and hare with red cabbage and potato dumplings (interesting!) crowned the dinner. We must say that if wine selection was compact it was of high quality. We liked the service. Being not a German speaker it made a good impression that most of the waiters spoke fluently German when I talked to them in English.Atmosphere of the restaurant is spontaneous and warmly friendly. Thanks to the Keller family!

I can not believe I haven't reviewed this place we eat here all the time as we live in Mannheim. They do all the German classics schnitzel wurst etc and have a weekly menu as well with things like sour kidneys etc. The house wine is fine although they do not have the biggest selection it is all OK. You are hard pressed to spend very much here on a great dinner. The staff are very friendly and it's a welcoming place plenty of seats outside in the summer but quite small inside so reservations recommended. You have to eat here at least once.

This was a very long business dinner, but was quite enjoyable. We had a stream of antipasta coming to the table and all were excellent. Also, we each ordered an entree and everyone enjoyed. However, we did not have to order an entree, as we could have extended the antipasta. Coming from the States, I was delighted to find such a nice Italian restaurant with a German theme. The servers allowed for a lot of time for us to enjoy, but plan on a long evening.

We had dinner there, made a reservation as the place is small. The service was wonderful, we really enjoyed the food, their salad dressing was delicious. We had a bottle of local wine, which we really liked. Prices are fine for such great food, definitely recommend. This place looked very promising, less formal and more fun than a more conservative Italian place a few doors down. The staff was very attentive initially, quickly taking drink orders and delivering a menu (in German only). Thanks to some photos on TripAdvisor, I was able to ask a few food questions which help decide what to order.A wonderful salad came quickly, but then it slowly the visit begin to fall apart. As the restaurant slowly cleared of customer so too did the staff, they disappeared! it took nearly 40 minutes for a pasta come out and only when I asked the staff about it. They forgot to fire the order?! They never came back to check on if everything was OK with the food or offer a second drink order. They were too busy polishing glasses behind the bar and cleaning silverware. Granted it was 21:30 and towards the end the night but this is inexcusable! What could've been five stars is now three.

We came with family to celebrate Germanyâs Fatherâs Day. The boat was cozy and the waitstaff was very nice and helpful. We had the asparagus soup, delicious, and our main course was the seafood duo. The main course was disappointing in flavor. Luckily the dessert was excellent; we had creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. The hamburger looked great and our family member said it was really good.

They present rather traditional than over-modern elegant cuisine using high-quality ingredients. Family-owned and driven, this place has a 30-year history and lots of regular guests. For us, it was the first time, bur we liked it and will be back some time. The 5-course menu at 98⬠is noch cheap, but omitting any course (can be the dessert as well) brings it down to 84⬠and is still more than sufficient. Nice wine recommendations as well.

Our neighbors took us there because they remembered it as a good place for German food. Well, it had changed and all our four dishes were somewhere between deep frozen and microwaved and tasteless. But they give you a free aperitif to start with.
