Fantastic food, great choice and an excellent service. My family had lunch here and while waiting fro everyone to arrive, the waiter made ome excellent suggestions for starters. The biggest problem was to actually make a choice as there were many things on the menu I would like to try out. In other words a good reason to come again.

Came by for a weekday lunch. We had a group of 4 and the consensus was that the food was fairly good but not great. Had the potato soup (apparently house speciality), flammekuchen, their daily special and the white asparagus specials that all restaurants in the region serve this time of year. Service was very good and we liked the general ambience of the place. Prices were reasonable.

The bar with salami and cheese specialties and over 100 wines can be found in the heart of the old town of Kleinbasel on Rheingasse. The extensive offerings and lively atmosphere make the Consum an uncomplicated meeting point. Whether it's the fresh lunch
"The bar with salami and cheese specialties and over 100 wines."So Consum advertises for itself. And it does what it promises!A parallel alley behind the Rhine promenade is the bar Consum in Kleinbasel. It is a small bar, decorated with lots of wood and great decor on a beautiful old slab floor. In a cozy atmosphere, it is the ideal place to rest from shopping, from strolling along the Rhine, or to make the evening after work.Everything is very clean! There are fine antipasti, cheese and / or great meat (cut from the big Berkel slicer). You should definitely try the very fine pear or fig mustard, buy a glass and take home with you. To accompany the meat and cheese platters, the Consum offers beautiful red and white wines to choose. The wines are the finest and the staff knows what it is talking about. The team serves and gives excellent advice; Thanks a lot to Leonie, Jacqueline, Max and Patrick. It's worth a visit! We are looking forward to the next timeDear Mr. "robertkeusen99"We are pleased to read you enjoyed your visit at our wine bar.We cannot thank you enough for your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, the wines, food and the excellent advice of our team at our bar.We look forward to seeing you soon again at Consum!Best regardsLeon Wolter

Today I was back at Gasthaus Kranz for a business lunch for 30 Eur: Variation vom Räucherlachs mit Blattsalaten, Maispoulardenbrust mit Balsamico, Schalotten und Apfel, Kartoffel Püree, Orangenmousse mit frischen Beeren.Today the meal was a little bit too salted. The service was slow and not so friendly.I hope next time will be better

Wow this is a great restaurant in Lorrach Germany. We walked to this from our hotel about a 7 minute walk. The owners greeted us and we ate large. The salads are fresh and very tasty dressings. The steaks are well prepared and wow on the salmon and veal dishes. Very nice atmosphere and the dishes are like art work for these people. I will be coming back again.

I live in New York City and letâs just start by saying Iâm a food snob. I hate playing high prices for a poor meal. I had such hopes for Ufer7. It got great reviews on this site. Ufer7 sits right on the Rhine River in Basel. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. The terrace was hopping. The inside of the space is stucco with wood tables and bare decorative bulbs. I little jarring for my taste. The menu lists multiple small items to share on a platter. We choose two to start with. Falafel and a mushroom soup option. The menu was in Swiss German so it was a little tricky. The top of the menu says food should be pleasing to the eye then the tongue. The food looked great but it all tasted like sandpaper. The falafel was dry and tasteless and I could not discern a mushroom taste in the soup. We shared a fresh fish plate which was composed of shrimp with the heads on, red rice, bok choy and salmon. All very boring. The meal was followed by two slices of carrot cake that I could swear came out of the freeze. You know that sort of wet dense freezer burn taste. Either way I took one bite and decided it was not worth the calories! What were the good points? The staff, they were lovely and helpful. I was a little surprised when the bill came to 142 Franks for 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers a dessert and a tea. Not way out for Swiss restaurants but when I gave the waitress 150 F she just walked away with the change. As an American I would have tipped but assuming you should just take a tip is a little off putting. Iâm hoping the chef was sick that night and they will be on their game in the future otherwise definitely not worth it except for drinks on the terrace.

We were here with friends in early January. The restaurant was jam packed and there was one large group of about 25 sitting together. You couldn't hear yourself think. I ordered the Kütteln sauer. Accompanying salad was good. The Rösti were OK but right on the border of being too brown. There was a faint burnt potato taste. The Kütteln were surprisingly mediocre. I've had this dish a number of times here and it has been excellent. This time the sauce was over salted and concentrated. As though they made a quick bit of instant stock and over did it with powder. It was also thickened with cornstarch. Too thick to start with with and a disgusting gluey mess by the time I finished the meal. Also, the four of us were presented with a basket of bread with just four thin slices. No Griebenschmaltz or Gänseschmaltz as usual at this time of year. My wife's fish cake was salty. Take home message: Don't go there when it is likely to be crowded. The kitchen staff was obviously stressed out and the food clearly suffered. Surprisingly the wait staff were calm, friendly and efficient. Kudos to those ladies.
