We ate at this restaurant for three evenings as part of a large group of walking friends from Switzerland, UK and Germany. We were accommodated in a large room to ourselves with freedom to chat and mingle as well as enjoying excellent meals with a choice of tender meats, wonderful fish and plenty of vegetables, noodles and fresh salads. The staff were hard working and friendly whilst racing around dealing with our large group as well as the rest of the customers. Obviously a popular restaurant and deserves a very high rating.

This is a great bar with very friendly staff. Be careful if leaving in a car. There are these steps at the building close by you will drive down unsuspecting and get stuck and crash. No joke they says a lot of people constantly do this. I was one of them. Staff was extra helpful and called a tow truck for me

I visited the Schnecken restaurant two times within the year 2015 - one time for a casual Sunday lunch, and the other time for a more formal Christmas family lunch. Both times we experienced great food and excellent service in a truly unique Swabian restaurant. The menu offers all of the usual local staples (meat & fish dishes as well as a very decent variety of vegetarian choices) as well as a well supplied wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks list. The Schnecken is located centrally within the village of Plattenhardt which is part of the township of Filderstadt - very close by car to the Stuttgart airport and the exhibition center ("Landesmesse"). There is a bus stop very close to the Schnecken which is located on the main thoroughfare of the village of Plattenhardt. The historic Schnecken building (erected in the middle of the 16th century) has been renovated very nicely, and the "snail like" exterior staircase giving the restaurant and building it's name is quite remarkable. The exterior as well as the interior offers a truly unique "medieval style" experience with lot's of timber framing, stone masonry and historic architectural features visible. At the same time the Schnecken is a very cozy and quiet restaurant which is decorated in style and offers a surprisingly airy and bright dining room on two levels. The staff is very friendly, and happy to help with every wish one might have. We enjoyed the local food offerings which offer high quality and great taste - all served in generous, but not overwhelming portion sizes. It's a family friendly place, yet due to the different "nooks and crannies" to be found inside the restaurant one can also conduct business lunches or dinners with the necessary privacy required. The pricing is indeed offering a very fair price/value ratio - especially since the quality of the food and drinks offered are high. Also, every dish on the menu is cooked freshly on the premises and served by a team of very friendly professionals. In today's world with more and more "pre-cooked food from an industrial kitchens" which is then "just heated up and plated" in the restaurant kitchen, the "cooking food fresh on site concept" is in fact starting to become rather rare. Thus, I personally am always happy to pay a little more for a really well prepared meal with high quality ingredients served by friendly professionals - which the Schnecken certainly offers.Personally, I did prefer the Sunday lunch experience at Schnecken since it was a lot less busy than during Christmas day (obviously, of course), but the atmosphere and food served was still great on both days. Nevertheless, I do recommend to book a table in advance in order to avoid any disappointments and/or waiting time: the Schnecken is a popular place. My family and I will certainly return, and can fully recommend the Schnecken for it's fantastic local cuisine, great service staff and unique ambience. Swabia at it's best!

The food was good but the tea wasn't great. The waiters weren't very attentive. The ambience was the kind where you wouldn't really want to stay longer than necessary. We liked the selection of fresh fruit best.Dear Sir or Madam, I am afraid but you have evaluated the wrong restaurant. As a Michelin starred restaurant we do neither offer a brunch nor buffets. We highly recommend you to check carefully which restaurant you are evaluating as it could damage the reputations of the restaurants. Best Regards

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Germany! An exclusive dinner in a great location with a perfect wine or non-alcoholic juice pairing is served here. There was nothing to complain and the prices for that fantastic dinner are still moderate. We can recommend all dishes and we will come back again for sure. Nothing to complain!

The Trollinger is in the Mövenpick Hotel at Stuttgart?s busy airport. The restaurant has a charming interior décor. There is a successful contrast between modern interior design and traditional chandeliers, creating a stylish oasis of calm. This is a plac
Service excellent, nice touch of (synthetic) rose petals and candles for a birthday celebration.Menu organised by themes rather than courses: healthy, signature Swiss, local Schwäbisch.Good local beers and wines (the Lemberger was excellent)Food was very good with ample portion size - we could not face dessert.Steak tartare a winner, Zwiebelrostbraten was an inch of melt-in-the-mouth. Slight mishap of a hair in the vegetables was surprisingly ignored. Expect to spend around ⬠50 / head for two courses. Will come back.Dear Guest,Thank you for your visit of our Trollinger restaurant and your warm words. We always strive to exceed expectations and provide a nice experience both in the hotel and in the restaurant. Therefore your feedback is very important for us and we are very happy that you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you very much again for your recommendation.Regarding the hair in the vegetables we deeply apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your generous understanding.Dear Guest, we will look forward to welcoming you back again in the not too distant future and wish you all the best for the meantime. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The waitress was kind and did not rush us. The restaurant has farm fresh food and can be expensive, but their lunch specials offer generous portions at a very competitive price. The fish was fresh and was served with a large salad and soup. I will be returning!
