The DO&CO remains a top restaurant in Baden. It is definitely intended for those who are successful at the casino next door or anybody else who can afford it. The food is excellent, the atmosphere classy.

we didn't like it today, first we had to wait for the waiter in an almost empty restaurant, then the soup was not hot and the main course, roasted beef with pasta was average, sticky pasta like heated in the micro wave and an orange sauce sweet from the carrots.

We were introduced to this restaurant/winery several years ago by my mother-in-law and her husband (this man knows good food) who live nearby. We go to Austria every year in September. This is our favorite restaurant. The food is excellent as is the wine. We particularly love the seasonal offerings. September is mushroom season and I had a fabulous mushroom salad that was entree size. The baked duck was amazing as was the natur schnitzel. Pumpkin soup was wonderful as was the garlic soup (two of our favorites). Two years ago they had goose which was amazing. Desserts are wonderful. We went there twice in 4 days this year. It was my husband's birthday and his son and girlfriend were with us. They thought it was one of the best restaurants we visited in the 3 weeks we were there. Wonderful owners and service. Highly recommended. Fo those not familiar with the area, it is about 20 miles south of Vienna in beautiful wine country.

This is also referred to on the back of their card that saysWeingut Grabner & Schierer
Definitely one of the better "Heurigen" in Sooss, which is famous for them --it counts about 40! The food is excellent, there is a huge choice of cold cuts and salads to be selected at the counter, but also a long list daily hot specials, almost all local cuisine with ditto ingredients. Many Grabner-Sederl's wines are prize-winning and all served by the glass. Unusual for Soss, the place is all non-smoking, a boon for people with a cigarette smoke intolerance like myself. And to make it really perfect, prices are "Heurigen level" too, meaning: dirt cheap by any standards for the quality offered. A glass (1/8 liter, 6 to a bottle) of their "ordinary" white was just ... 1.80 euro

We were here for lunch and ordered the daily special, a 3 course meal. The first course came quickly and was definitely yummy. Then we waited and waited. People came and went, ordering the same special we had. I finally flagged down a waiter and asked if we had been forgotten. He said, no, of course not, but then I saw him run to the computer. When our meal finally arrived it, too, was yummy. Our dessert was a chocolate mousse. I speak fluent German but the waiters (all of them) spoke only English with me--maybe they just wanted to practice?--but I found it annoying. I almost never bad mouth a place and maybe I'm being overly sensitive. The food was great and the price was reasonable but I got a bad vibe here.

Wow, what a great little restaurant. We walked through the door to be greeted by the Greek owner and his two small sons. They made us feel so special. The owner had family in Australia and he was thrilled to have us there. The food was fabulous and the staff very attentive. Loved the place.

Tsatsiki is a really nice alternative to all local restaurant.
Price is fair and service and food are really good.
They have greek beer and wine.
Fried fish is really light and good.
It's really easy to arrive to this restaurant, both from Baden (nearest town) and both from motorways. Just in front of the restaurant there is place for some cars. Other Parking are near.

Dishes are well-prepared and presented and come at decent price-points, but service (though very friendly) seems rather un-coordinated. We were not the only guests trying hard to find someone authorised to take orders/in charge of the bill, and not just employed to serve. While the people we shared a table with were still waiting for their orders to arrive (ours had arrived rather promplty), waitresses passed by trying to find the table who had ordered what they were trying to serve, ultimately returning to the kitchen with it. In their defense - several guests had relocated inside when it started raining, not remembering their original table numbers, but surely, there has to be a better system. That being said, a charming restaurant and good choice for refuelling when visiting the thermal bath.

We invited our friends to join us to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The management went out of their way to make the evening so special. Weingut Rathbauer is a multifaceted experience. Wonderful ambiance and great decor. We often go for a meal, good selection of local foods. Very sad that they are controlled by the Heurigen calendar so only open a few days each month. Book ahead for a special treat!

This is such a lovely little place, and with delicious pastries to boot. I had to get a second piece of 'Kardinalschnitte' after my first because it was just so good (and I'm not heavily into sweets).
