The Agathawirt-hotel was built in 1517. The "historical" part of the Hotel is nominated by the Haager Konvention. In this historical part our guests enjoy our well-known restaurant with typical Austrian specialities. The rooms are located in the modern new-part of the hotel - quiet - view to the mountains and garden. The Agathawirt-hotel today not only is well-known for the restaurant, but although as a spezialized mountainbike- and hiking-hotel. ... But although for the central location within the area we are a good decission for your visit of the Salzkammergut-region with it's famous villages, e.G. Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, Ausseerland, lake Wolfgangsee

Reviewed By november_moonWe stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of a walking holiday. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. The furnishings are a bit older, but in good condition. We had a balcony with a beautiful view. The pool and sauna areas are great, and we really enjoyed relaxing in the garden area in the afternoons. We stayed on a half-board basis with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast was good - standard fare, good quality, plentiful. The dinner each night was 4 courses from a fixed menu - good choices each day with meat and vegetarian options. The weather was nice, so we had dinner outside each night in a covered patio area. They have a nice selection of beer at the bar. Service is efficient and a bit brisk - some have described it was cold, but everyone seemed friendly enough, just busy.

Our Guesthouse close to the nearby lake "Hallstettersee" (300 m) and its central location within the heart of Salzkammergut is ideal for walking, trekking, biking and other excursions. A lovely and cozy house based on long tradition! This was already anticipated by our guests traveling with stagecoaches more than 100 years ago. Today the guesthouse with all its guestrooms is newly renovated and welcomes all visitors arriving with cars, bikes, motorbikes and walkers.

With friends, or with family, this is the place to be, to see, eat and visit. Also this area is so beautiful to walk, ski, and mount walking.

Reviewed By 777peterjmRoom and ensuite were spacious and recently refurbished and very comfortable. Cleaning was good. Food was fine. Bad Goisern is a pretty village located in a beautiful area with a variety of walking around lakes and alpine.

Great Location in Charming Alpine Village, with Very Polite and Helpful Staff

I arrived late, when the kitchen was closing and there weren't any other options in the neighborhood, and they very graciously stayed open to make sure I was well fed. There were a few young teenage boys hanging around who I think were related to the hotel proprietors, and who were eager to greet me and rushed to call the elevator for me when they saw me heading to it. Great location in charming alpine village of Bad Goisern, convenient for exploring stunning nearby town of Hallstatt. The 900+ krampus parade in Bad Goisern on December 7 was an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life!

Nice Hotel in Bad Goisern
Reviewed By pattibostonWe picked this hotel while hiking in the region. This is a simple hotel for a good nights rest. The rooms are small, no AC, and a bit noisy by the main roadway. The breakfast was solid and the main restaurant did a good job at night - they have a very good chef! We had a few after dinner drinks in the bar and the bartender was very pleasant to chat with about the area. He was 4th generation from Bad Goisern, so he knew alot about the area.

Excellent breakfast, nice room in a lovely&small city
Reviewed By Montira_MayThe hotel is few minute away from train station and almost 10 min walking to bus station. So, it is easy to go to hallstatt, five finger or other cities. Breakfast was the best and most impressive. The owner was very nice and helped me find other places to visit as the cable car to five finger was closed for maintenance. I have a mountain view with white snow from my room. The city itself is small and very quite. I really like it. I will definitely go back to this place for next visit and totally recomend to others !!!
