A good fish and chip restaurant in the centre of Sudbury
I am a regular visitor of the Codfather in Sudbury, and I love their chips, there is no competition anywhere near!! I even visited Aldeborough famous fish and chip shop and they were not a patch on the Codfather!! BUT..... I have recently discovered the Codfatherâs Greek Salad!! OMG Iâm addicted!! The staff are brilliant, friendly and welcoming and their team of waitresses are very professional without being OTT, just nice and relaxed without seeming rushed or harassed. Try the Greek Salad, maybe with some grilled fish if you want something more filling, you wonât be disappointed!!

A continental coffee shop for grown ups! The best coffee, fine scrambled egg, home made cakes, warm croissants and a warmer welcome. We are located near Gainsborough Museum with free parking outside for your visit. Open from 9 am- Monday to Saturday for d
This is a child free zone, and despite the fact that we like well behaved children, it makes for a relaxed time while eating breakfast, lunch or brunch. Newspapers available along with many cookery books to pursue while waiting if you don't want to chat with your companions. Food is very good and well presented - absolutely delicious.

We are a traditional village pub serving home cooked, fresh food at lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as stone baked pizza in the evenings and on Saturday. Our bar is dog friendly and we have a fantastic beer garden with a small fenced off play a
Having read the reviews we went to The Hare with high expectations and we were not disappointed. After a very warm welcome we sat down to eat lunch. My slow cooked skirt of beef was some of the best that I have tasted. My partner's belly of pork was equally good. The pub has a very pleasant and warm atmosphere, the staff are polite and helpful and obviously the chef and kitchen staff know what they are doing.

Arrived and got drinks at the bar, dont really like the queuing system used here.Found a table that wasn't reserved for 4 hours later, rejoined the queue at the bar to order the food.Food wasnt up to the standard expected, lasagne was scorching hot around the edge but barely Luke warm in the middle. Fish was a child size portion that had lost all its crispness and was very substandard.Staff weren't very attentive, we wont be returning.Hi there, sorry to hear you were not happy with your meal today. If you would like to talk about it in more detail please feel free to give us a call or pop in and speak to one of the pub leadership team. Hope to see you for a better experience soon!Stevie and the team.

Finished work at 12.00 so the wife decided let's here for light lunch. Greek salad, bean salad with cranberry and brie tart. Superb, washed down with a tasty white wine. Would definitely recommend.

The Black Lion is a 15th Century inn where our modern twist on the traditional creates a wonderful setting to enjoy our food, explore our wine and rest a weary head.
Four of us were sat at a beautifully laid out table in a room buzzing with atmosphere for a mid-afternoon lunch.Service was fast, attentive and fun. Two of us had fish & chips, one had pork, I had the burger. My wife declared the fish served on a pea puree the best she'd ever had. My burger arrived in the form of a carefully constructed edifice that looked almost daunting. The generous portions and fantastic flavours created a memorable meal we all thoroughly enjoyed. We'll be back.CliveFa,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, your kind words are very much appreciated. I will feed back all your comments to members of our team.Glad to hear your wife enjoyed our take on fish and chips, it a real best seller. We look forward to your return visit.Kindest, Lewis R - Assistant Manager

My partner and I stopped here for lunch on Sunday after visiting the lovely town of Long Melford. The restaurant and garden were fairly busy but not completely full so we walked through the garden and then in to the bar looking for a table, we eventually picked a table in the garden. I specifically looked for the table number after over hearing a member of staff asking a couple ordering what their table number was but our table, and the ones around it, didn't have one. I walked through an open door back towards the bar to get some menus and it was at this point I was stopped by another member of staff and told to "stop using that door as it was unfair to diners" who were sat in what looked like the conservatory, I explained that we were sat in the garden and I was just getting a menu and she said it didn't matter I had to use the door at the end of the building. My partner and I chose not to eat here as we felt unwelcome. Avoid.

We went for a walk in Medford country park and came here for feeding and watering. Wide range of cakes, we had cream tea. The owner came out into the garden to see how we and if we enjoyed the food and drink, we really enjoyed our visit. :-)

Went with friends for a celebratory dinner. Weâd wonderful food including turbot, Dover sole, duck and locally sourced lamb. All excellent with solid portions of each. Their starting point is clearly some excellent produce. Of course, we found room for starters including Scutchersâ signature tempura prawns and some beautiful scallops. Wines good and the list is heavy on New Worlds, all fairly reasonably priced. A decent sharing plate of cheese followed with coffee.Service is efficient, but friendly. The restaurant was quite busy the night we went. But Scutchers feels like a well-oiled machine with owner managers who care and take real pride in what they do.

This was the first time we had dined at this pub but had read some very good reviews. We were not disappointed the meal was delicious, well presented and the staff were excellent. Also, we thought it was very reasonably priced. We Will certainly go again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The White Horse, Whepsted.
