Large car park to the rear of pub Kids play area surrounded by a fenced, grassed meadow with plenty of seating
Always a warm welcome at this cosy country pub. Lloyd, his wife and friendly team behind the bar and in the restaurant provide a friendly and efficient service, and there is always service with a smile. The bar meals are nicely priced, chicken goujons a favourite and the chunky chips are crispy edged - yum! The restaurant offers a wide variety of food at reasonable prices, the steak is really good. In the winter there is a lovely fire in the wood burner, and in the summer, a pretty beer garden to relax in. Clean and tidy, a brilliant atmosphere, a favourite of ours.

So starting on a very positive it's lovely to be able to take the dog for afternoon tea in such a lovely building. It seems dogs are allowed in the lounge and garden . The afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches which were lovely , followed by cakes & scones of course with Tea which there was a great selection of . The food was very good maybe not excellent but definitely a very good . The staff were friendly and polite .So after the good a little bit of bad, unfortunately the service seems confused, I ordered a drink when we first went in during the course of the meal I had to remind them 3 times and it eventually turned up by the time we got to cakes !! I think it's because you haven't different staff serving you so no one noticed and the drinks are brought from the bar . Also I made a slight alteration to my meal which I know the waitress wrote down but did get forgotten - in fairness they did rectify this . Over all I still had a good time and wouldn't put me off, however I think maybe they need to think about how they take drinks orders. The swan is a beautiful historic building set in lavenham which has some nice little shops .Good Morning,Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of your visit to The Swan.I am so sorry to hear about your experience with afternoon tea, I will pass on your feedback to the food and beverage manager so that we can make improvements to our future service. The Angel Hotel is a traditional village pub, restaurant and hotel, set on the market square, in the heart of Lavenham. We offer a fresh food dining concept , a large restaurant, welcoming bar and extensive garden, perfect for a summer cocktail or two! We
Great location overlooking the marketplace. We only stayed one night but we had a very friendly greeting on arrival. We were shown to our room which had the wonky walls and floors you would hope for in such an old building. The room was nicely decorated, clean and everything worked. The bathroom was a bit dated but spotlessly clean. The range of food for breakfast was a bit limited but the quality was good and the service again very friendly and efficient.

Set in the heart of historic Lavenham, the Cock Horse Inn offers all that you would expect from a traditional British pub- high quality, homemade, locally sourced food, prepared freshly to order at reasonable prices. Delicious ales served to perfection; a
Booked a table on the merit of reviews but disappointed. Portion size ridiculously small particularly as charging top end prices.Barely a slither of sea bass!Veggie curry undercooked and tastelessSausage and mash although small was tastyOne side of pub was the bar with noisy football fans which didnât give an atmosphere- again as paying restaurants prices

An elegant, two AA rosette restaurant in the pretty Suffolk town of Lavenham, The Gallery Restaurant is part of the impeccable and historic Swan Hotel, a quintessential English country spot with spectacular service. Priding itself on serving the very best
We had lunch here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The gallery restaurant is impressive architecturally and there was a discreet pianist playing ij the gallery. First impressions were not too favourable as two of the tables my wife would have preferred were already laid for afternoon tea with cups and saucers and so on. This was at 12.30, and neither were taken when we left at 3 o'clock. This apart the meal was pretty good with just a couple of minor glitches. My wife felt that the prawn starter did not have sufficient prawns, possibly because of the rather pretentious dish/plate in which it was served-a small bowl shape with a very wide brim. On the other hand my ham hock terrine with piccalilli was a generous portion, both well textured and well flavoured. My roast beef was faultless, thinly sliced with perfectly cooked vegetables. My wifes roast pork was similarly good with the exception of the crackling which appeared to have been deep fried and was inedible. Both deserts, the apricot crumble and a raspberry combination, were excellent. Obverall then, not a faultless experience but the good outweighed the less than satisfactory and this was a fair deal at £32 per person, with wines available by the glass as well as the bottle.

Great looking pub with a real rustic and country feel. Havenât been in the 6 bells since last year but the staff are welcoming and friendly. The menu and food was fantastic and value for money. The mackerel starter and beef brisket were rosette restaurant quality and presented beautifully. Credit to the team: itâs clearly under new ownership or management. We will be back!

We went to Munnings Tea Room on Saturday afternoon, and we had the best cream tea that we have every had. Hand made scones, which were warm, delightful jam and clotted cream. The staff were warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. What amazed us, and it shouldn't, was the offer of extra water for our tea pot, to eak out another cup or two. Who does that these days??? The best £15 spent for a long time.

We enjoyed the ambience of this relaxed restaurant across the road from the Swan hotel, where we were staying. Drinks in the garden were followed by a nicely cooked dinner chosen from a small menu, which included a fresh, tangy gazpacho and a delicious beef casserole. Very personal, friendly service and excellent value for money.

A timber framed, 16th century cottage which has been converted by the owner to a traditional tea rooms. Get taken back in time with original family photos on the walls, Glenn Miller being played on the gramophone, bone china cups & saucers and a proper te
Booked in advance we have a prime table by the window. Afternoon tea was beautiful with a choice of several different kinds of scones baked beautifully by the owners Mum who was also there. The lemon curd scones were our particular favourites. Very friendly, good value and beautiful food. I would highly recommend it. Dear jenny945Thanks so much for your review of your recent afternoon tea at Lavenham Blue Vintage Tea Rooms. I am delighted you enjoyed your visit and of course the lemon curd scones! Thank you for your recommendation. Hope to see you again.Best wishesAmanda & Team Lavenham Blue

This was the first time we had dined at this pub but had read some very good reviews. We were not disappointed the meal was delicious, well presented and the staff were excellent. Also, we thought it was very reasonably priced. We Will certainly go again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend The White Horse, Whepsted.
