Discover Restaurants offering the best Contemporary food in Sudbury, Babergh District, England. Sudbury is a historic market town in Suffolk, one of the largest counties of England in East Anglia. Sudbury itself is worth exploring on foot, a small family friendly town with a shopping area (mostly full of chain shops but with a few great local shops), and a few good bars and restaurants. Fans of art history will be pleased to discover the house of Thomas Gainsborough on the appropriately named Gainsborough Street at the bottom of Market Hill, and book lovers may be amused by the plaque at St Peter's Church which acknowledges the fact that the town was referenced in Dodie Smith's classic 101 Dalmations.

I stayed in a room above the restaurant .nice room good value but very hot and still no fan despite other reviews else where mentioning it.and limited facilities no hanging rail or luggage rack to open luggage on floor is primative in 21st century.Food is a limited range of italian which is the way to go ,do some thing well,no need to add to it. Iggy is working hard at geting it right open just 4 months i belive .Bit pricey for a half of beer draught perroni was £2-85 ouch.

Went to this pop up restaurant on Saturday night, didn't know what to expect. Its held at the chefs home, a beautiful half timbered farm house. Greeted with a glass of home made elderflower wine. Approximately 18 other people were also there, and we immediately started chatting. After three different types of canapé we were shown into the dinning room , a beautiful old outbuilding with a huge table in the centre covered in a white tablecloth and festooned with candle sticks, bowls of fruit and china. Very Georgian . There were three courses excluding the cheese and biscuits at the end. All were simple but delicious, especially the main course, slow cooked lamb shank served with mash , french beans and optional red cabbage. The food was served by the chef and her husband. We arrived at 7.30 and the next time I looked at my watch it was almost midnight, always a sign of a good night out. Great food, great company, great venue, and all for £25 excluding table drinks which you bring as they don't have a licence. I loved it.
