Sudbury itself is worth exploring on foot, a small family friendly town with a shopping area (mostly full of chain shops but with a few great local shops), and a few good bars and restaurants. Fans of art history will be pleased to discover the house of Thomas Gainsborough on the appropriately named Gainsborough Street at the bottom of Market Hill, and book lovers may be amused by the plaque at St Peter's Church which acknowledges the fact that the town was referenced in Dodie Smith's classic 101 Dalmations.

Fancied a quick chicken burger today after shopping and popped into KFC in Sudbury. Ordered cheese and bacon burger x 2. Told they had run out of bacon, so I accepted the offer of double cheese instead. What side orders did we want? One sweetcorn and one coleslaw please. We've run out of sweetcorn. You can have either coleslaw or gravy. Oh. OK then, 2 coleslaws please. And drinks? 2 diet Pepsi please. Drinks were handed over and I was told 'we've run out of diet Pepsi - these are normal'. At this point I did, quite calmly considering, say that this was a joke as they had run out of everything. Whilst waiting for my order, I heard them admit they had also run out of pound coins. The loooong wait produced 2 cold chicken fillet burgers which were really not appetising at all. It will be a very long time before I venture back ...

Fantastic chicken shish cooked succulently. The chicken shish xl is for the big boy appetite and I add £2 of doner too (served in a box). Home delivery when they say they will. Very reliable and friendly. Give it a try! Mixed and Combination kebabs good too!

I took my daughter too Subury today for a treat as she had asked me earlier that day. I've only ever used subway a hand full of times before but unfortunately for us this visit was a bit of a calamity.There was an awful lot going wrong. The result of the visit was that we received a incorrect order that was also incomplete and then were overcharged for the pleasure?When challenged with regards to the over payment, we were told nothing could be done as she did not have authorisation and was on her own, and left with an additional receipt with a signature on it as proof.The member of staff on shift was on her own and clearly out of her dept. The whole experience was disjointed and disappointing.The orders were not taken correctly, which caused confusion, the right questions were not being asked, which caused confusion, people ordering together( my daughter and order) were asked separately, which caused confusion. I asked for salad and all i got was a bit of iceberg? I asked for un toasted and received toasted. I asked for no salad in one sandwich and yes, you got it, it came with cucumber. I was not asked at the till if that was everything so that the bill went through before we were ready to pay which then caused the problem with the over payment as we still wanted drinks. I was not asked if i wanted a drink.Lots going on and none of it good. I am struggling to think of any positives that came from this experience. I guess the only one that i can think of is that the staff member did smile on occasion.All in all terrible hence the poor review. Un trained and unable staff should not be left managing an outlet if they neither have the skills of ability to do so.Would not recommend, unless there is a nationwide famine. Would not return.

The food is good and it is quite quick. However on my recent visit I became very ill from this restaurant and the service was poor. I am however going to give it the benefit of the doubt and assume this was a one off experience. However I will now be less likely to eat here.

Have heard of some bad reviews about Hot Wok but have always had a good meal. Portions are bigger than other Chineseâs in town and reasonable price. Always find them delicious. Whenever me and my partner have a Chinese Hot Wok is normally where we go!!

Fantastic food with a friendly service. Due to allergies we do have to be careful what we order but the staff here were so helpful. Delivery time was under an hour which was great. Generous portion size at a good price. I would recommend the Singapore rice noodles ( very flavoursome) which contains pork,chicken and prawns. Great for sharing or good by themselves. Also the kung po chicken. In fact we have tried lots of the dishes on the menu and they were all fab.

If we are near Sudbury and fancy kebabs then this is where we go. Always have large mixed chicken with donna meat and chilli sauce. The chilli is nice and hot and a large is always more than enough. X large must be an absolute monster! Must try one day.

Being a London boy; i have had to many chippies to pick; so we are use to the best, this little chippy is cracking the cook it hot to order so even 10mins later its steaming hot, the Chinese attached is top draw too

Called in to get lunch, as tourists this made a change from the run of the mill "tourist price" baguette etc. Set at the end of the High Street (?) surrounded by other fast food places we thought we would give it a go. The fish was cooked fresh for us - my wife thought hers was slightly underdone, but not an issue, the staff were friendly and allowed us to sit in the waiting area with out two very small (and in special carriers) dogs. Prices were reasonable. Fish was thick and tasty. Too many chips, and for me to say that ........... Can recommend.

Stopping in The Cabin just along the road I decided to revisit this takeaway.The chicken and sweet corn soup is amazing, the salt and pepper ribs about four times the size of those from my local at home and really meat.I had chicken chow m as a main - tasty with a good balance of flavours and not too salty.Very nice thanks.
