Since the restaurant is located right next to Mercado Duque de Braganca, the local market, our dishes are prepared fresh using the best fish, meat, vegetables and fruit produced in the Azorean Archipelago and available in the market.
5 of our 8 meals were at this lovely place. Vasco, our waiter, was probably the nicest person we met on this island full of nice people, and the food was fresh, delictable, and very moderately priced. We gorged on fish, squid, and octopus because we are weird, but the menu full of tasty delights.Hello ogg12,Thanks for your evaluation and helping us getting better,Regards

I made a reservation for dinner yesterday (Saturday) evening. Clearly, I needn't have had the reservation. A series of named winter storms had blown through, so it was plain that any fin fish would have had to have come out of a freezer chest. So I chose the chef's version of octopus. It turned out to be sauteed, served with sauteed onions and peppers. The meal was prepared as well as you'd expect any decent Portuguese restaurant to prepare octopus. The starter of fish soup also was perfectly OK. The bottle of an Azorean wine, "Basalto," proved a pleasant surprise. All in all, the meal was perfectly acceptable. But it wasn't one which makes me want to rush back for more.

We walked down from the Fort for dinner. We ate upstairs with very attentive, knowledgeable staff. We tried 2 different fish dishes, Monk fish and Wreck fish. Both were excellent. Worth stopping at this restaurant on the pier.

While in Angra do Heroismo on the Island of Terceira in the Azores, I came across this establishment serving great meals at a very reasonable price. Service was good and the environment welcoming. A must if on a budget.

Stopped in during our first visit to the Angra marina but it was late afternoon and only the snack menu was on offer. Came back the next day at lunch for the limpets, but they were out, so we tried the barnacles instead. Okay for something to try, but probably wouldnât order again. The octopus however was fantastic. Crispy, well seasoned and just the right texture.

Enjoy our slow cooked food overlooking an amazing sea view. We are a Farm to Table restaurant, fusion of Portuguese, Turkish, and Italian cuisines using Azorean ingredients. We source our ingredients from the local Farmers'Market and do our best to buy or
Just when we thought we had scoured the town of Angra for places to eat, Captainâs Table was recommended. Off the beaten path and amazing fresh fish with kind and attentive service was our experience. the owner is turkish, so the dishes have a bit of a turkish flare... Totally great find!! i would go back... if you can reserve a table close to the window, do it. it gets a bit hot and there is only one window in the front. quirky, fun decor...super nice owner!!
