This is a special place, not your usual mundane restaurant. The theme is cheese, cured meats, canned fish and wine. Bruno is passionate about them all and it shows. As it was our first night in Ponta Delgada, we booked well in advance and were glad we did. Tables are very limited and all walk-ins were turned away. A must if you enjoy Portuguese foods and drink.

My mom and I stopped here on the last day of our trip for a light dinner. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When he found out we had Azorean ancestry, he even introduced us to a neighbor who had the same surname. We ordered the mixed plate, which came with bread, several smoked meats from the Azores and Portuguese mainland, and several Azorean cheeses. It was very tasty, and hit the spot after some of the huge meals we'd been having.Justin Tanks a lot for your words if you visit Azores with your moom please pass in Mercearia I wish all the best my mane Us Márcio silva Muito obrigadoMárcio and Carla

As this was near to our hotel we stopped here on a couple of times. Coffee was good and priced well. Our biggest suprise was the wine and they have plenty of it. We asked for a bottle of Azorean dry red wine and were offered what they said was their best. Don't remember the exact price but somewhere around $12. Very good wine and service was excellent. Never did have dinner here but seemed popular in the evening. Nice place to stop.

We stumbled upon this place and decided to have dinner here. We were told we had to wait for a table despite seeing empty tables in the restaurant. We waited and later learned that making reservations ahead of time helps! The food was so good that we didnât retreat waiting! The staff are also nice. We enjoyed the food so much that we went back for dinner on our last night in Ponta Delgada and the food was again delicious and enjoyable.
