We were recommended this place and unfortunately we didn't enjoyed the food. We ordered 2 types of soups and they were ok, the fish soup was tasty but a bit too salty. For the main I ordered vegetables crepes and I was surprised to see arriving 4 Chinese spring rolls, probably deep fried from frozen and coming with no sauce whatsoever. They came with some tomato rice, quite plain and a bit stodgy and overcooked. My partner ordered fish that came with the same rice. The fish was ok but not that great. We also ordered a salad and it was very weird. Too much vinegar soaking grated cheese and green leaves and other things such as a tomato and pinenuts. We were quite hungry and managed to eat but we didn't enjoy it and got the impression that nobody knew how to cook in the kitchen because they could have made a better meal with those ingredients, apart from the Chines spring rolls which should be called Chinese spring rolls in the menu to avoid misunderstandings. And in any case a bit of soy sauce or sweet chili sauce would e appropriate. They also have this Portuguese custom of putting things on the table that you haven't asked for and if you eat them you will have to pay for. this included ham, cheese and bread and olives. We realised and sent the ham and cheese away but other people might think is complimentary.

Where Cafe Saudade now stands, there used to be housed the historical Queijadas da Mathilde cheesecake factory from 1888 to 1974.These queijadas de Sintra (cheesecakes) were a favorite of King Ferdinand II (who restored the Pena Palace). During the 3rd quarter of the 19th century, the king gave the factory founder a stamp marked Mathilde, to brand the cheesecakes bound for the royal family. The Cafe Saudade was restored and preserved over a year long renovation in 2008 and opened in the summer of 2009. Recycled and regional materials and resources were used to create an environment that authentic. We pride ourselves for this and and for the fact that our team offers the best service they can.The spaces of the old cheesecake factory are today a cultural reference in Sintra's recent historical background. Its preservation allows us a glimpse into the ancient manufacturing process of the typical queijada de Sintra.Wander through the "Saudade Labyrinth" and fall in love with Sintra. Visit our Art Gallery and explore the various rooms with pieces of furniture that we restored with love and care, and in which we have handcrafts for sale. We host Literary gatherings, jazz and fado Concerts and other cultural activities.
Breakfast was included in stay at sister hotel. A wonderful setting and delicious array of pleasant morning goodies. My wife actually made lunch sandwiches from the leftovers to carry away for an afternoon snack. By the train station, so very convenient to travelers. Coffee was good as well.

Comfort food based on Portuguese and international cuisine, all well made at very sensible prices. Service is warm and friendly and food comes in no time. A very good place to go with your kids or for a lunch during the weekend.

Portuguese and International food by the sea.
We were very impressed by the quality of the food at Nortada, especially my duck dish. Sadly the wonderful sea view we might have had was obscured by sea mist, but the general feel of the restaurant was good. Our initial waitress was not so fluent in English as many, so it was not so easy for her to make us feel welcome, but she tried.

I have visited this restaurant a lovely small beach in 2013, I enjoy so much coming to good places and finding everything same good
We have ordered different types of octopus - I have taken boiled and my friend have asked for the grilled one. There was a problem with mine (the waiter have mixed the orders, so I waited quite a long time).
Now it is official - this place have served the best grilled octopus during our trip this year (fresh ingredients + my favorite olive oil of Portugal - Herdade do Esparao from Alantejo).
Agreed with the owner to see each other again in 5 years
If you are looking for a simple place with a view - that is Adraga.

My family and I love this place. The food is great quality the wait staff are supet friendly and speak good english. We have taken all of oue guests here to get authentic Portugese cuisine without the marked up prices in Lisbon or Cascais. This place is a must for lunch or dinner if you're in Sintra.

It's very difficult to describe this place but one thing for sure is the quality of the steak is excellent and each dish, though simple is done to perfection from the crisp salad to the perfectly done chips. The interior decor is like something from a Tarontino film set odd but cool; appreciated by my teenagers sons. Very quick service. Very good value.

We felt really like special guests...Misses, the owner, personally cooked that day for us, what made us feel really pleased and special, moreover she spent time talking with us. I ate the best salmon and tomato soup ever, and to be honest I am very picky in terms of food. Highly recommend!!

One would not imagine a decent meal, when entering Croa. The place is rather run down. Cheap sponsored plastic chairs and umbrellas litter a veranda with the most stunning views over Praia Grande. The inside is divided into two rooms, the first rather charming with wood paneling, but the second resembling a plastic tube with very bad lighting. This could-should be the coolest SURF-HIPPIE bar/restaurant in this area, yet it is a shack with too much plastic.
BUT, the food is absolutely delicious!!! Try the baked cheese and then have some grilled fish.
The staff (I think mostly family) are super charming and kind and you are right above the Atlantic surf.
Perfect for Sunsets!
