Poor standard of food, fish tasted like frozen re-heated seaweed. Fried cheese/spinach was dry and oily. Table food (beans, chickpea nuts, cheese, bread) were basic and of a low bulk quality.
Entertainment well choreographed but lacked enthusiasm and energy (except the bald man and the last blonde solo belly dancer).
Waiters did not speak English or explain the drink situation.

Located in the city centre of Avanos,Bizim Ev was a excellent restaurant for a small family dinner. The building is more than a hundred years old, built in local architecture. The service was really friendly, suggesting local food and wine. We had testi kebabi and manti which were the top two favorite foods on the list and both were amazing. I would definitely go there again.

Kadin girişimciler restoran
This is a women's co-operative operation. The local ladies work together to create delicious local dishes, thus liberating them from their homes and possibly getting them into work, with others in similar situations - widows, single ladies etc.
They work together, and they are happy to let you watch them in the kitchen and other prep areas, making pastry, fillings, putting dishes together, everything. Fresh, fragrant, from scratch - simply delicious, deliciously simple.
This is a great place to go to get simple, well prepared Turkish food, at cheap prices. The menu is simple and has pictures and english translation. The ladies were lovely!

Lunch was at a place called Hanedan Kervansaray, a large restaurant built to look like a caravansary, with big rooms clearly designed for groups, wedding receptions and the like. The walls were decorated with traditional crafts, including folkloric garments and other textiles. We had a tasty lentil soup, so good that George Beers asked for seconds, and a beef stew cooked in a terracotta pot that was smashed tableside. The stew was tasty and tender, and the smashing made a good show, but I couldn’t detect any difference in flavor imparted by the pot.

Sur Balik introduces a bright new food concept to Cappadocia. The Restaurant is placed at the Red River and the menu is as magnificent as the venue itself. Our guests will enjoy selected meals of Anatolian cuisine and seafood concept with the boutique receipts of our ingenious chefs. Let each meal turn into a fest in Sur Balik Avanos. Our restaurant has both indoor and outdoor service areas.
Love this restaurant. I come to Cappadocia every year and love coming here because I love any place that is on the water (and this restaurante is right on the water, literally. The food is good, I like the arugula salad with a little goat cheese, the small shrimps sautéed in butter and the fried calamari. Great place for the evening, there is no view of the sunset, but the view of the mosque on the other side of the rive as the sun sets and the lights are turned on is peaceful and heartening.
Service could be improved. The waiters bring our order and then leave, never to appear again, and since we sit in an outdoor gallery, it is hard to wave at them if they do not come out. It is very hot in Cappadocia these days, unusually hot, and this has everybody on the edge, but I have been here before and the situation has been more or less the same. I would be happier to pay their prices which are considered high in Cappadocia if their service staff got better training and supervision. It is surprising, since the restaurant belongs to an economic holding that has many touristic interests in all of Turkey and who are extremely professional. But it has change a lot since the first time I came about 6 years ago.

This is the most lovely little cafe. The name Hanimeli apparently means home cooking and everything is indeed home cooked by the ladies that run it. We tried quite a few things from the menu and everything was really good. They had quite a few veggie things which were great too.

In the middle of our tour, we stopped at this restaurant. Few stairs or elevators for elders. Magnificent lunch buffet started with: Wedding soup, appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts and fruits. Only drinks are excluded, rest is part of the buffet. Many tables with guide's name. Great service and fantastic food.

Good quality food, lovely setting on the river and decor inside is lovely, the only failure of the wait staff to care or bother with the customers who pay above average prices to be there. You feel like you are disturbing teenagers when you want...MoreDeğerli misafirimiz merhaba Yorumunuzu bizimle paylaştığınız için teşekkür ederiz. Saygılarımızla, Avanos Mado Ailesi

We were taken there by our tour guide. We have been advised to taste 'testi kebab'. The meat was very 'hard to chew', we didn't enjoy it much. From our previous experiences, we knew that this particular meal should have tasted much more delicious. So, this is not the right place to eat 'testi kebab'.
Another point that we did not like was the fruit part. We have been offered watermelon at the end of the meal but the color was all white and it was tasteless. If the product is not good, they shouldn't have served it to the customers.

This is no restaurant daily open, but it offers a combination of show and food. Although it can host up to 600 persons, reservation is needed. Meal (mezes, warm starter and Turkey or lamb) is served while you are watching a show of traditional wedding ceremony, group dances, and belly dancer, interrupted by song, musical solos and disco. Really worth while, evenif the price is not cheap. But you can drink as much as you want, so...
