Great location with ample parking. It was nice to see the atmosphere and clean restrooms. Suitable for family dining. It's a hit or miss depending on what you order. While the Nacho Appetizer was of ample size and very good, the Smoke Stack Spud and Beef Brisket Sandwich was not. There was more than two people could eat of the Nachos. The smaller Smoke Stack Spud was very small and barely enough toppings for its size. The Beef Brisket Queen Size sandwich was the same way and came to the table cold. One would not expect this at a 12:30 luncheon. Paying $7.99 for a sandwich, chips, and a pickle seemed more than it should have been. The waitress failed to mention for $7.50 a Pulled Pork Sandwich and two sides could have been had. It would have been understandable had they been busy but only one table was in use other than ours at the time.

Common Grounds is more than a coffee shop. It is a great place to relax and talk or connect to wifi. But the best thing is their focus on missions. They are always supporting missions or going on mission trips and that is awesome.

I was a bit surprised that the price is now $9.99 for the lunch buffet on Saturday which is really too high. The lady who took payment said, "Oh but that's because we have seafood on Fridays and Saturdays." That would be worth it EXCEPT the only seafood was cocktail shrimp (who really wants a bunch of cold shrimp you have to peel?) and some crumbly thing that was supposed to be catfish. That stuff wouldn't even pass for popcorn catfish. It's all coating and no fish in those tiny pieces and I have no idea why they would purposely buy that stuff and put it out. The rest of the dishes looked fine, but they need a couple of vegetarian dishes because some of us do not eat beef, chicken, or pork. Every dish had one of those in it. There was one with shrimp but it also had pork in it. Why not just spicy shrimp? I did not see any ketchup out for the fries and onion rings and there was no chocolate syrup for the ice-cream and the only choice was vanilla ice-cream so it would have been nice to have syrup or something to put on it. $9.99 is just too high for a lunch buffet when there isn't some meatless choices and the catfish is so bad. I hope they consider at least putting some real fish out and having just a vegetable dish to put over rice.

I'm from out of town but knew there was a local heirloom seed festival and high school graduation in town. If the restaurant would have known this they would have staffed more than one server. After getting salsa and chips we waited for 25 minutes and did not get greeted by a server and people continued to come in. We couldn't get the one servers attention so we paid for the chips and let. Hotel people said it was great.....and the only place open on Sunday night

I go here all of the time for their slushes or something with ice-cream. The staff is always friendly and they are very quick to make orders. If you get something to eat it is always hot and good.

American brunch cafe high speed WIFI breakfast Lunch Dinner open to close Real homemade cooking awesome coffee awesome desserts awesome soup and salad bar
We stopped in on a Sunday and tried the all you can eat Chicken Fried Chicken and Fried Catfish. It comes with a good salad bar, rolls, a vegetable, choice of potato and cobbler and ice cream. The Fried Catfish and was lightly breaded and seasoned just right. The breading on the Chicken was a little heavy but the gravy was wonderful. Our waitress was extremely friendly and always had a smile. They only accept cash or checks but the tax is included in the price and the all you can eat was only 13 dollars. The cobbler was good but I would skip the ice cream as the consistency was a little off but after all you can eat you don’t really need it.

We have been frequenting coffee shops for several decades. Normally, we try to avoid Starbucks for political reasons. That leaves small 'mom and pop' types. Some are okay. Some are not so good. This one is excellent. It is likely one of the best we have visited. Rachael knows her coffee and how to brew it. The shop is very nicely decorated (by her). She obviously loves her shop. Stop here.

It is just off the square in downtown Ava and there is plenty of parking in the area. It is a local hangout as they greeted everyone but us by name. We stopped in two different times for a late breakfast and a couple of the same people were eating there each time. The Denver and the Chorizo Omelets were both large and very flavorful. It is a cash only place but two meals and drinks were around twenty dollars.

Variety, price and service can't be beat. As a treat I buy my granddaughter lunch in morning before I drop her off at school. If that's all it takes to make an 8hr old happy I'm in. And I'm the best Grandmaw!
