Find out what American restaurants to try in Chamonix. As host of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, Chamonix will always have a place in the history books. Its main attractions are Mont-Blanc (Western Europe's tallest mountain) and the many ski areas that face the Chamonix Valley. Steep slopes and extreme weather conditions suit advanced skiers best, but there are also runs for beginners. Just make sure everyone in your party knows a green circle from a black diamond. Oh, and another note for the history books—Pierce Brosnan was here (filming a James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough).

Set in no competition Cham-Sud, a small French bistro serving average beef/burgers for mid-to-high price in quite a good atmosphere, with a typically French snail paced service.Hey! Not totally certain how to best respond... First, we are not a French bistro but an American restaurant with the cheapest burger in chamonix at 15⬠with fries. Anyway, good luck on your travels in France, doesn't sound like you are a big fan of what the French do.... Cheers

we have been visiting the valley for 20 years and own a place there. We went to Elevation at Easter, wanted to sit inside and were totally ignored by the waitress. So we sat down ourselves and were ignored again. We had 4 hungry children with us. We left and won't be going back. there are plenty of good places to eat in Chamonix and just because they were very busy is no excuse to pretend you are not there.
