Family restaurant blending local cuisines of France and Belgium. A warm welcome and a charming decoration "campaign" that integrate perfectly with homemade food tasty and plentiful
Behind this unprepossessing facade, on a busy road near the medieval town of Aubenas, lies a small corner of home-cooked heaven. The simple decor of red and white gingham reflects the warm and generous welcome of the suitably rotund and beaming owner and his waitresses, while his wife cooks in the kitchen. For a mere 10.90 euros we enjoyed the plat du jour of melting blanquette de veau, a classic of French cuisine. At other times we have consumed a perfect Pissaladiere tart of onions and anchovies, with crisp, thin pastry, and courgette soup garnished with tiny cubes of smoked salmon. The place is always full, not just with workers consuming their midi meal, but also with families tucking in to the brimming platefuls. It is essential to book for this unsophisticated, but totally authentic, French experience.

I highly recommend the address if you happen to be visiting Aubenas. The restaurant is located a bit outside of the old center which makes is less crowded than a lot of the easy alternatives available. Seated on the terrace as we were, the surrounding area was lovely and calm.We went for a 3 course menu, a bottle of Shiraz and the refreshing 'apéritif maison' (champagne with fresh raspberries). Adding a bottle of water, our tab totaled just above 100â¬: excellent value for money.Aside from the good food, the service was also above standard. The host was very friendly and took special attention regarding some food allergy issues. In addition, a small detail which I found noteworthy: the menu card my girlfriend received didn't display any prices (as good restaurants tend to do). At the end of our meal, she rated/expected our bill about â¬25 higher than the tab we were presented.

We are there and the food is pretty much Ok. That is not the case with the interior. Your neighbour will eat from your plate too. There is no space between tables. It's horrible. And it was cold too, because there is no terrace heating and the place is all open. No more for us.Bonjour, vous n'avez pas pu manger dans notre établissement car nous sommes fermé depuis le 9 septembre 2017 et ce jusqu'à mi novembre.Cordialement La directionHello, you could not eat in our establishment because we are closed since September 9, 2017 until mid November.cordiallyThe direction

We ate a great lunch in this nice little family-run bistro. Three times ravioli Gratines which just tasted wonderful. Nice Salade du chèvre chaud and great Gambas with pomme du legumes - Finalized with fantastic desserts with ice and coffee. 4 persons including wine - 110 euro - and they even brought water for our little dog by them selves.

Local notary introduced us to this hidden gem. We had lunch on the terrace and everything was perfect. Run by a charming young couple who made us most welcome. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. Looking forward to returning here.

We just happened to arrive in the restaurant at lunch time and were shown to a table in an alcove. The range of starters and main courses was good, as was the range of wines. Each of us selected different starters and we were agreeably surprised by the high standard of presentation and the good tastes. The range of meals is broad and includes vegetarian,We ate good food which was well prepared and at a fair price.

We booked for lunch (advisable as only 20 covers here) and had an incredible lunch which is priced less than 20⬠for starter, main, desert and coffee. Restaurant run by a young enthousiastic couple offering excellent service, immaculate restaurant and fine cuisine visible from your table. Look at photos to see the quality, originality and presentation of dishes. To taste, you need to visit and I assure you this is worth while.

We were really pleased to find this small restaurant tucked away in the old quarter of the Thueyts. The charming waitress was very helpful - and she spoke excellent English! There wasn't a huge choice, but all the dishes were very tasty. We both had the menu gourmand at 22 euros. The starter was chevre in a sort of spring roll with salad. Then my wife had the pork and I had the lamb - both were excellent. Also, the dishes came with a good variety of vegetables - not always something you can say about French restaurants. A 3 course meal washed down by a bottle of the excellent Ardechois red wine, followed by coffee, came to less than 60 euros.I would strongly urge any visitors to this area to try out this restaurant - just park in the town square, head north-east for about 100 metres, and it's on the corner.
