The majestic Austrian Alps stretch across the country, an awe-striking area of Ice Age valleys, verdant heaths and alluvial cones within Europe's largest national park, 700-square-mile Hohe Tauern. Taking in the dramatic cities of Salzburg and Innsbruck and the beautiful province of Tirol, home to spectacular skiing and hiking, as well as Gross Glockner, Austria's highest peak, and some of the world's best winter and summer sports playgrounds, the Austrian Alps are an outdoor lover's paradise.

Travelling to Salzburg with my family (4 people in total) and we were checking airBNB options, however this hotel caught our attention because the value was very close to an AirBNB flat in the area. Good thing that we went to the hotel instead, as it is really a very good option, close to the old city center (<10m walking distance), very clean and friendly staff. We decided to not include breakfast, however that was a mistake on my part, because it is very convenient and there are plenty of options to eat, so the value (around 100 Euros for our four day stay) is not that bad. Really recommend the hotel and certainly will use the JUFA chain of hotels more times.

A striking combination of old and new, all in one building: in this design a&o, situated only 500 metresfrom the central station, sleep cosily in a former bread factory, a listed building that has been converted into a modern, stylish accommodation with 119 single, double, and family rooms, as well as multi-bed dorms. There’s a kids’ corner for our younger guests, and the grownups can help themselves to the well-stocked snack bar. The lobby awaits visitors around the clock with tabletop football, Billiards, and our incredibly friendly staff .
Pros: Clean, quite comfortable stay, budget hotel, near the Salzburg central train station, clean toilet & bathroom. Cons: Water pressure from the shower is a bit weak for me. ☺️All in all it was a nice hotel to stay in. Will definitely come back.

We booked twin bed private room for two nights in Salzburg with shared bathroom and wc. It was nice surprise that our room had private shower, wc was on the corridor. All was as expected. Location is halfway between railway station and old town, and it is possible to walk everywhere. Breakfast was good for its price, 3 €. It included good amount of bread and stuff with it, coffee and juice. On other day, there were also cereals. People was very nice too. And they really play sound of music daily :D

Our Mellow Mountain Hostel is the perfect home base for a good time in the Tyrolean mountains. Wether for a trip with your crew to climb, hike, bike, ski or snowboard, or just some private time in the beautiful nature – we’ve got you covered!
The location of this hostel is incredible. You're surrounded by the beautiful mountains, with hikes and cable cars right on your doorstep. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area so can and will help you plan your excursions and they give you transport passes too which come in handy. They offer breakfast, but there are cooking facilities if you want to make your own meals too. The rooms were spacious, clean and had great views. And the hostel feels more like a 4* hotel. I actually flew into Germany and got the train to Ehrwald which was really easy and the hostel is so close to the station.

Selina Bad Gastein is located in a property built in the late 19th century, and overlooks the beautiful Bad Gastein waterfall. Guests can partake in all sorts of outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, cycling, and archery. The town is alive with various activities such as a summer art festival, trail running competitions, and RedBull Playstreets ski competition. Stay with us to live the best ski experience, rest at the end of the day in our pool with a view and connect with other nomads with a beer at our restaurant.
We stayed as small family in Selina Bad Gastein during Christmas. They are located in a very old building which is really beautiful. Lots of classic details which we loved. Some thing where renovated on a not so nice way but luckily the old building remained for an important part. The Selina team was very nice and willing to help. Only we arrived after they just re opened and many thing didn't went smooth. You saw that the team really needed to find its way to organize things. Also it was cold the first days in our room. And we didn't had a closet. Al but all we will come back because I think the team manage to get it smoothly running

I had booked the double room (there is only one) for my partner and myself, so you can imagine my surprise when we arrived and were informed by the waiter (there is no receptionist or person responsible for the rooms) that the reservation had been cancelled. The reservations manager (a guy called Peter, who is maybe also the owner) had mistakenly cancelled it following a call I had made to cancel breakfast. I had even told him over the phone that I will be sending him a written confirmation so as to ensure everything was crystal clear. He had then promptly responded with 3 words (That is ok). The waiter proceeded to call Peter and he then came back telling us it was fine. We paid, followed the waiter upstairs to our room, which we saw was fitted with a bunk-bed and not a double bed. This is where we really felt played, as the waiter had never told us before we paid that the double room was occupied, and even when faced with it was coming up with petty excuses (like: 'yeah, but the double room is more expensive you know?'). That dishonesty did not sit well with either of us. If we wanted to we could have really started a discussion, but we did not want our short romantic stay in Salzburg to be clouded by this so we just sighed and carried on with our lives. It's all pretty sad, as the view up there is beautiful and the food was nice. Stadtalm Naturfreundehaus: Get your grip together management-wise. This is not the first review complaining about this.

We stayed at Eduard-Heinrich-Haus for 3 nights with a group of 50 young boys and girls. We were all well accomodated, rooms were spacious and clean, the only negative was the very small bathrooms. Meals were tasty and well prepared, also for celiacs and lactose intolerants. Unfortunately this hotel is a bit far from the center of the city, which is however easily attainable with public transport.

Looking for an epic mountain holiday?? Our homely chalet has heaps of games, BBQ grill, consoles & arcade machines, two cinemas, poker table, darts, professional foosball table, chill-out lounges, fitness & table-tennis rooms... It is perfectly placed to enjoy a huge range of other activities. We are at the base of a fantastic Austrian ski resort, literally in the heart of the Austrian Alps. The rooms are all cool and unique; lots of funky design and amazing features are to be found everywhere. You can book one of the 3 apartments (for up to 8 people) or pay for all three to have the entire chalet for your group.
I stayed here a while back during an 8-month solo adventure. To this day, this hostel remains the fondest stay in my memory. Not only is the town amazing, but this environment really tops off your stay

The Nepomuks B&B Backpackers Hostel Innsbruck is located in the old city center of Innsbruck. We provide a fully equipped kitchen, the bathroom is to share. The buses to all skiing areas around Innsbruck are free for our guests of the hostel, in summer you can join the free guided hiking programme in the Tyrolean Alps. We serve breakfast in Cafe Munding, the oldest confectionery of the country Tyrol, Austriy right underneath the Nepomuks B&B Backpackers Hostel Innsbruck. We would love to welcome you at our hostel! Anja :) & Almut :)
Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4-person bedroom. Bedroom & bathroom were clean. Small lockers were provided in the room. Check in was done at Cafe Munding. Location is perfect, very much walkable everywhere. Definitely didn’t need any public transportation to go anywhere in old town. Breakfast was great. The earlier you wake up the better the pastries selection will be. WiFi was spotty at best. Reservation is only done through the phone or walk-in, but it was not a problem for non-German speakers like myself because the staffs speak English.
