The restaurant âKanonenhofâ, although having a long tradition, was taken over by a young couple from Ex-Yugoslavia only in 2011. So far they made only minor changes. While the interior looks very much like before, the menu was modified to a certain extent. It now comprises a few typical Balkan dishes as e.g. ÄevapÄiÄi, but still boasts several of the classics of this restaurant. Some particularities also have remained the same, such as using a milk can rather than a tureen as a container for soup and serving one particular dish in a small wooden push cart. I was somewhat deceived that even on a Sunday at Midday there is only the permanent menu, but no menu of the day.The proprietors as well as the rest of the staff are remarkably hospitable and friendly. I do not know whether the waitress responsible for our table was still an apprentice or not. At any rate, she served the dishes and beverages in a completely unprofessional manner, although she obviously tried to do her best.Kanonenhof certainly strives to be more than an average restaurant and its price level corresponds to this ambition. The main courses we had were alright, but not sensational. A little more attention to presenting the dishes on the plates would be welcome if one wants to belong to this category of restaurants. That they know how to do it proved the âMohr im Hemdâ with a ball of ice cream, which we had as a dessert. It was both excellent and nicely decorated. All summed up we were quite satisfied and in spite of the aforementioned minor shortcomings value for money was acceptable.

Karte enthält warme und kalte Speisen, leider kein Bratenfettenbrot an dem Tag. Sehr guter Most, sehr schöner Ausblick, sehr netter Kellner. GroÃe Portionen, Preis Leistung sehr gut. Leider etwas kleine Buschenschankkarte.

A vegan restaurant in the middle of Nowhere! Well, it is in Klagenfurt and to have a vegan restaurant here is sort of something outstanding! The Chef of this place cooks the food delicious and I recommend a visit and enjoy the 'greenish' atmosphere!

Walked out of the parking garage in Center of Klagenfurt and straight pass this outlet, we were all hungry and no time to study Tripadvisor, and the pouring rain convinced us of seeking immediate refuge.Itâs a Bierstube so expect German beer and food, however Iâm of the more average kind, kein fienschmeckerei here.It has a cozy beer garden and we sat there having our drinks and meals. The service was friendly, swift and effective, beers were cold but almost flat, food were served in generous portions, but not worth finishing, as very average tasting.

After being warmly welcomed, you were shown directly to a well-appointed waiting table in the main beer hall, despite the relatively late hour. Following the efficient recording of the food order, a large glass of the tasty house beer was then proficiently provided. The pumpkin soup came relatively promptly, was hot and tasty and complemented by a bowl of bread provided at no extra cost. After this course was cleared, the main course, a mushroom risotto, also arrived efficiently in a timely manner and was also hot and tasty. Service was polite, unhurried and also efficient, even though it was late in the evening. After the meal was consumed you were left undisturbed to savour it in the attractive atmospheric beer hall, while finishing off the tasty glass of beerâ¦.

We came to Zum Augustin after a 6 hours trip from Milano by train. We were exhausted. The restaurant was packed, nevertheless we were seated at a spacious table with other guests. The food was amazing! From the bread and the beer we already understood this was a quality place. We took the Augustin pfan: really excellent! Completely recommended restaurant.

Tables are dirty and full of bread crumbs. The atmosphere is friendly but it is all what is positive about the pub. Beer is average quality nothing special at all, White wine served by glasses is awful. The waitress managed to mix our orders put them on the table , we almost started to eat them and she took it back to the kitchen and brought it back again. The quality of food is below average. Total disappointed!

We visited this restaurant for the first time on 31st December 2018. Having holidayed in Austria throughout my life, ( I am half Austrian) we have eaten in many places over the years. This restaurant is, absolutely one of the best I have ever been to. The food was delicious, the interior was warm and cosy for the cold winter night. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were so attentive. My son said the garlic soup was the best he's ever had (and he's had a lot). I can only highly recommend this restaurant and we will be definitely returning. Thank you to all the staff :)
